I went into AGH on 5-17-21 with horrible pains in my abdomen and they gave me a CT scan right away and discovered my appendix needed to be removed right away , Dr Zarif ,His surgical assistant Daniel Hakeem and their team sprang into action immediately as it had just ruptured and put a tear in my colon as well , They saved my life and i appreciate everyone at AGH , It was the most professional excellent experience I've ever had at a hospital , thoughtful ,caring and everything was explained every step of the way start to finish from all the staff at AGH , I hope i never end up in a hospital again for any reason but if necessary I'll pray its AGH in Berlin.MD. If I could do zero stars I would. When my partner went for a follow up visit 5 days after she collapsed a lung, and she described the excruciating level of her pain, his verbatim words to her (I was there - I heard it ) were, "Are you done whining now?" He shut a patient down when she was telling him important facts about her condition. This man should NOT be seeing patients.

Excellent surgeon. Very skilled, with great bedside manner, as are the rest of his colleagues in the practice.

I needed a inguinal hernia repair and being in Ocean Pines 4 months a year I contacted Dr. Zarif's office. Harmony was extremely helpful in contacting my Primary Care Physician in Florida and getting the paperwork required to see Dr. Zarif. Upon seeing Dr. Zarif a few days later he diagnosed me and suggested surgery. He explained in detail what and how he would do the laparoscopic surgery in detail and schedule my surgery 3 weeks later. Surgery went extremely well at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin and the PreOp, Surgical and PostOp nurses were extremely caring and helpful to both me and my wife. Pain medication was right on and I had no pain and was not left in LaLa land while on the pain medication. I would highly recommend Dr. Zarif and Atlantic General Hospital anytime.

I had to have an emergency appendectomy last Thursday. Dr. Zarif made a swift decision based on a ct scan. He was professional, yet Very personable at the same time. No one expects or wants to have emergency surgery, but Dr. Zarif made me feel very comfortable with the decision.

The worst experience I have ever had was rude I left there so upset I’m at a loss for words answered none of my questions just told me it was not that bad trust me I have never been in pain like this refused to do surgery because I was high risk and when asked him what I should do he said deal with it I just can’t believe the experience I just had he could have at least given me some ideas about hernia belts or how I could get some relief but nothing

My husband had Dr. Zarif and we can't say enough good about him! He has a great personality which means a lot when your nervous. He explains everything in easy to understand language.

I had a great experience while under Dr. Zarif’s and Daniels care. I had emergency gallbladder surgery about 3 weeks ago and have healed well and found them to be very competent, professional and caring. I am so lucky to have found such a great dr in this area as we moved here 2 years ago and we were worried about the quality of care. Hoping I won’t need additional surgery in the future but would definitely use him for GI issues.

He is amazing! All his team members are the best, starting with the receptionist they are always there to help you with your appointments, nurses are very nice, Amanda and Amy both nutritionist are great, Angela is awesome always there for me, even with emails question always back to you, and what can I say about Dr. Zarif for me he is the best, answering questions, explain every detail of what happened or what’s going on. I recommend them with my eyes close they are the best!

Dr. Zarif was so attentive with my surgery and caring about my fears of what could be. He called my at 8:30 Friday night of Memorial Day weekend with the good news of no cancer. Who does that these days? He and his staff are the BEST! We are so fortunate to have him here!
