I cannot say enough good things about Champlain Ophthalmology. The staff are always attentive and caring, and the doctors are top notch. Whether it was my young daughter who was nervous as could be and needed a friendly voice to put her at ease while they got her going with eyeglasses, or my elderly mother who needed someone with great focus willing to listen patiently and try a different approach to finally heal her eyes, to the point now where her eyes and vision are better than they’ve been in many years. Thank you, Champlain Ophthalmology!

I recently had cataract surgery at Champlain Opthalmology. Dr James Heltzer was my surgeon and my outcome was outstanding. He is excellent in his field and has a caring bedside manner. Everyone at the practice from the front desk, optical technicians and surgery scheduler was efficient, knowledgeable and made the process easy for me. I feel like I chose the best IOL for my goals and had good information to make the right decision. Highly recommend.

Have only seen DrChaudhary, but he is competent, kind and cutting edge of medical care. I originally met him working as a nurse in a surgical (eye) center, and felt he was exceptional,,,, saw him as a patient and feel extremely comfortable that I am in good hands. Highly recommend

Dr. Chaudhary is extremely knowledgeable and caring. He has a great bedside manner and consistently takes the time to listen, answer questions and explain when necessary. I've also met with Dr. Heltzer in the past and he too was wonderful. The office staff has always been friendly and accommodating.

In addition to being exceptionally competent practitioner, Dr. Heltzer is highly concerned with the patient's long-term well being and has a pleasant bedside manner. The cataract surgery he performed on me was perfect, and his long-term care over many years was thorough, trustworthy and effective. On one occasion during the pandemic I had to be seen by Dr. Chaudhary for an emergency. With exemplary professional integrity and in spite of the constraints imposed by the pandemic, he managed to guide me with competence and compassion in a way that saved my left eye, for which I am, needless to say, grateful indeed.

The doctors and most (but not all) of the staff are competent and kind but the office is crazy disorganized and/or over-booked-- people kept waiting for over an hour in the heavily trafficked waiting area, elderly patients kept waiting in the internal hallway for 30+ minutes for a test after they were called from the waiting room. We were kept waiting for 90+ minutes.... Opthamologist was clearly knowledgable but distracted/stressed. Perhaps some of the disorganization was due to Covad but with a huge staff, it clearly wasn't due to a lack of personnel.

Dr. Chaudhary and Dr. Heltzer are competent and thorough doctors who take their time with their patients. Dr. Heltzer also teaches, and they both are extremely knowledgeable. I have also spent time with Mary, who fits my contact lenses and is also very capable, experienced, and perceptive.Because these qualified people take their time with their patients, I sometimes find myself waiting in their pleasant waiting room for longer than I would like, so I try to get in first thing in the morning if I can.

I have been treated by Dr. Omar Chaudhary on 3 occasions for issues with my eyes. My experience with the practice and with Dr. Chaudhary has always been excellent. Dr. Chaudhary always takes the time to carefully explain your medical diagnosis and treatment. He is very knowledgeable and has excellent bedside manners. Dr. Chaudhary also performed my husband’s cataract surgeries. We were very pleased with the treatment and outcome of the surgeries. Dr. Chaudhary kept us well informed about what to expect throughout. I would highly recommend Dr. Chaudhary.

I’ve been a patient here for several years and it’s been a real pleasure. The physicians are top-notch - it’s no surprise they win awards - and the staff are a perfect complement as they are equally helpful and efficient. Dr Chaudhary is terrific - I greatly value the excellent care I receive from him. He is perfectly thorough, and extremely clear and patient in answering all my questions and discussing my treatment. He has also been highly accommodating when I have had emergencies (this is also true for my family, all of whom are his grateful patients!) I strongly recommend this practice.

Love Champlain Opthamology so much - it’s been my practice of choice even after having moved out of the area. Dr. Chaudhary is incredibly competent and warm- always taking time with routine appointments and making time for emergency visits. The office staff is very friendly and helpful.
