Dr. O’Brien is an excellent orthopedic spine surgeon!! He truly performed a miracle on my husband. My husband had spinal fusion surgery from L2-S1 late October 2020 by a different spinal surgeon which FAILD. By March he could not stand straight and he was in severe pain even though he was on strong narcotics for the pain. Several of the screws had loosened. We were so fortunate to find Dr. O’Brien. He immediately helped him get an appointment with an excellent pain management group to control his pain till he could redo the spinal fusion mid-April 2021. My husband's recovery has been excellent. From day one Dr. O’Brien has been available for any questions or concerns. In addition to his amazing skills, he is an extremely pleasant and kind man. He truly saved my husband and our family from a tragic situation. We cannot thank Dr. O’Brien enough.

Dr. O’Brien SAVED MY LIFE. He performed A minimally invasive three fusion and laminectomy surgery. Prior to going to him we interviewed four other doctors but as soon as we met Dr. O’Brien we knew he was our guy. I was in so much pain in my hip and groin area that I could barely walk and I remember curling up in bed telling my husband I didn’t want to live. That was three years ago and I just had my three-year follow up with Dr. O’Brien the other day. I am doing great, back to all of my exercising no pain no numbness no nothing he is absolutely phenomenal. I have also seen Dr. Schluntz, in this practice who I also love who did both of my knee replacements and I have met with a few of the other doctors and they have all been fantastic. Don’t hesitate to use any of them.

I recently became a patient of Dr. O'Brien over the course of this last year and I am deeply grateful for his support. Three years ago, I had an accident which gradually caused pain in my lower back. A friend of mine referred me to Dr. O'Brien. Although I had to wait 1.5 months before getting an appointment with Dr. O'Brien, I decided to wait because I was told he was the best! Once I had my appointment with him, he scheduled a Minimally Invasive Laminectomy procedure for me. After he conducted my procedure, I was able to go back to work in 2 weeks. He did a phenomenal job and I can't believe until this day how quickly my recovery process was. I am truly grateful for his support and will not hesitate to reach out to him, and his team at OrthoBethesda, if I ever need their support in the future. They are truly the best! Dr. O'Brien is the best! I was in a wheel chair before surgery with so much pain that I literally couldn't walk more than a few steps. Now I'm 3 months post-op and I can walk almost 2 miles. I still have some discomfort from time to time because the nerves are regenerating but I have my life back! He clearly cares about his patients and takes time to explain the surgery. I'm very grateful that he performed my spinal fusion surgery.
