I went send an enemy to this office. The floor of the exam was covered in blood, old blood. After a two hour wait for the Doctor I walked out!!!
Never had a chance to see this doctor.. my appointment was at 2:00 pm and by 3:00 I asked the nurse when the doctor can see me and the nurses said not for at least another half hour. They seemed like the staff didn't know what they were doing and I wouldn't trust anyone like that with my health.
I had an anal fissure for 6 months.. tried the creams and the botox injection and ended up getting advancement flap surgery by another doctor. I was still in pain 3 months after the surgery and then saw Dr. Stein. She diagnosed that I had a new fissure on one of the edges of the flap. She had a completely different approach to dealing with fissures and gave me specific details on what my diet should be. After 10 months of being in pain, after I saw Dr. Stein, within 6 weeks the pain went away.
I tried to get an appointment for my college age daughter who had recital bleeding for two weeks. I explained she was coming home from college. Then, I had to listen to 20 solid minutes of medical advice from the appointment person— fissures and hemorrhoids and what to ask her etc. I finally got an appointment spot and gave all the demographics and insurance info. After I hung up she called back and amassing”I forgot to ask what state she is coming home from. So I said Florida and she said there is no way anyone in this practice will see her coming from a Covid hot spot. Then she said I can give you names of doctors in private practice. Huh? Anyway, half an hour of my life I will never get back getting medical advice from a receptionist and then getting dropped and told “nobody here” would treat a college student coming home from Florida. Stay away from these people. They’re nuts
A routine exam became anything but that, thanks to my interactions at the front desk, with a caring nurse, and a physician who reminded of "Joe (just the facts) Friday" but with a bemused expression on her face. I am grateful to Tonya, who paid careful attention during billing and ensured I was charged properly for my co-pay; I appreciate Sharron who got me settled, and helped me relax prior to my exam; and I was glad I saw Dr. Stein - who was focused, explained everything at my grade level, and laughed at the best parts.
Dr. Stein has given my mother top care. She is a dedicated and true doctor. Her assistant, Wendy, is great as well, handles so much with grace and humor. We thank you two very much.
Dr. Stein was incredible. I am a 50-year old male, full time professional/corporate job, husband and Dad, frequent jogger. Experienced severe pain "down there." Excruciating. Stein put me on a diet, ointment and Advil regimen to see if it could be fixed that way, but at about the 3-week mark, we knew a surgical procedure was the way to go. I am talking many sleepless nights and unrelenting pain. She incised one roid, tied off two, treated a fistula, which included "the most Botox she'd ever used on a patient." There is no way around the first 3, 5 ish days being painful and demanding on the will, resolve and pain endurance (this after 6 weeks of enduring the condition pre-surgery), but what she did, after three weeks, has made me a new man (I started to feel on the track to normalcy after 5-7 days). Her bedside manner, thoroughness, accessibility, plainspeak in how she explained everything to expect and what her approach was going to be, were nothing shy of first rate. I'm grateful for how she treated me, and that goes to Wendy her assistant who could not have been more kind, resourceful and caring.
This doc is truly special. She's brilliant and caring and knows her stuff. After seeing a bunch of mediocre docs in the DC area, I feel so lucky to have found her. She immediately diagnosed my issue, which many others couldn't, and fixed it within a short time. I'll be forever grateful.
My impression of Dr. Stein while favorable during my initial visit is now unfavorable. My experience is that her practice, especially her office and support staff lacks a level of professionalism, operating at a level bordering negligence. Dr. Stein does not instill a level of trust necessary to achieve a satisfactory surgeon-patient relationship. Her office staff is rude, condescending and unprofessional. On multiple occasions phones were not answered during stated office hours and voice messages were not returned for weeks. As an explanation, her office staff twice claimed there were "problems with out phones" both in August 2017 and November 2017. Return calls were made from unknown private cell phones. Incorrect and incomplete information was provided which lead to cancellation a few days before the scheduled surgery and well after pre-surgical preparation had commenced. Pre-operational instruction material contained multiple misspelled words, incomplete and incoherent sentences and poor quality copies of journal articles. Dr. Stein gave a couched apology explaining that she "only deals with urgent matters involving patients." My confidence in having an uncomplicated procedure and recovery with Dr. Stein diminished from this conversation. I now doubt her practice's ability to provide satisfactory post-operative care due to the unprofessionalism exhibited by Dr. Stein and her staff. I cannot recommend Dr. Stein and will seek treatment elsewhere. Since I am also a DC-licensed professional, I am also filing a report with the medical licensing board urging corrective action.
Dr. Stein performed my hemorrhoid surgery 3 weeks ago, my hemorrhoids were in terrible shape. It could not have been done better. I took Tylenol for 3 days and then did not need any more pain medication. There was very little bleeding after the surgery. After 10 days I did not even think about it any more. Dr. Stein could not have been more pleasant and professional. I would highly recommend her!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
