List of Suzanne J. Walters's Reviews
Dr. Walters was very timely, courteous, and empathetic. She diagnosed my two son's problem and gave them solution. She is amazing doctor, her comforting and reassuring words are sometimes more powerful than medicine. Dr. Walters treated my older son about 10 years ago and I have enjoyed my visit for my youngest son's knee issue on 2/17/20. We as a family are blessed to see her again for our youngest son knee problem. it seems all her staff are genuinely happy working at the center.
Came in with terrible pain. Dr. Walters drained a large amount of fluid and claimed I would feel much better! Well she was right! My knee feels so much better! I also received a cortisone injection. Dr. Walters navigated deftly around my ostiophytes and provided a pain free operation. Thank you Doctor!

I visited Dr. Walters in February earlier this year. She is a very nice and knowledgeable doctor and is always listening to what you have to say. I had an arthroscopic meniscus repair as well as microfracture surgery done by Dr. Walters. The procedure was done in a nice facility in Bethesda MD and the staffs there was very nice. I am still in the road to recovery and so far it is going well. Just know that recovery will take time as I have seen progress over the time. The back of my knee no long hurts and I am very thankful. Thank you very much Dr. Walters for the work you have done.
Dr. Suzanne Walters is a fantastic and very personable doctor. She is thorough and takes time to explain everything. Although she specializes in pediatric orthopedics my husband and I have both seen her for ankle and back issues. She does X-rays in the office and has a great MRI referral practice. We have never waited more than a few minutes in the waiting room for appointments or more than a few days for an appt. Her front desk scheduler, Melissa, is absolutely the best and kindest receptionist of any physicians office I've been to. The practice is associated with Virginia Sportsmedicine Institute for PT located down the hall and there is a PT office in McLean with free parking (parking at Virginia Hospital is $5 but you can buy a package at a discount). The PTs we've seen are excellent. So happy with the whole experience with Nirschl.
Dr. Walters is at Nirschl Orthopaedic in Arlington now. She specializes in working with kids. She was great with my son. Got him back on the field very quickly.
Dr Walters not only ordered unnecessary radiation on my child repetitively, but never seemed to know what to do. I mistook her for a medical student but then I recalled more capable med students ive met in the past. How she became a doctor is beyond me. And to market her as a pediactric specialist is laughable. She has no personality or demeanor condusive to handling children. I would never even take my dog to see her.
Called to say I would be late when I arrived and signed in 2min. after the 15 min mark the Dr. stated I would have to wait until she sees all her patients. I already had the online form filled out they made me fill it out again, the Dr. never got the message that I called 2x to say I was running 15min late. Two of the staffs attitudes were the worst. I don’t know how the place received good reviews on zocdoc, I left in the same pain and they had the nerve to say go to urgent care! Really!
We were referred to a colleague of Dr. Walter's from Children's Hospital. My 4 y/o son broke his radius and ulna. We were unable to schedule with Dr. Friend so we took an appt with Dr. Walter. First, I was disappointed that the person we scheduled with did not disclose that Dr. Walters is only at the office on Hamaker on Fridays. Second, I may never know how competent Dr. Walters is for a variety of reasons. This is a summary of my complaints (i) she never acknowledged or greeted my son who is her patient, he may be 4 but he is still the person she is treating; (ii) she never showed us an X-ray or took the time to discuss the nature of my son's fracture, what to expect in the healing process or at later visits the prognosis of how we are doing, and (iii) she never smiles. Dr. Walters spent most of her limited time with us lecturing us about all the things my 4 yo should not be doing (playground, running, sandbox, etc, etc,). When I told her it is difficult she just reprimanded me, again. At our last visit (which I waited for 1 hour) she told me my son needed his cast for two more weeks. When I asked why she said "I told you fractures like these can take a while to heal." Fractures like what? Then she told me I could get a waterproof cast but insurance may not pay for it (who cares); and lectured me about his activity level. When we got to the cast room I asked the Cast Tech why two more weeks. He said "did she show you the x-ray?" I said no so he got the x-ray and proceeded to explain to me how my son was healing, etc. It was at that moment that I realized I was getting better medical advice from the cast tech vs my doctor. The staff very kindly agreed to let me change doctors which I was appreciative of. I will also say that after my hour wait I said nothing to Dr. Walter until she said "so you have been waiting a while" to which I responded "yes, I think there was a paperwork mix up (which there had been )" but she replied "No, just a lot of patients and only one of me." I was stunned , she is awful and I would not recommend.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
