Medstar Health Surgery Center At Brandywine's Online Review Report Card

Update: I never did get back on here but my review stays the same. After months of me trying to get an answer about my bill someone called me back. They took off the $60 charge for the $25 retail cost of the soft cast. They had billed me for physical therapy which had not been recommended at the time and I did not go to. Found out the slight fracture after a more thorough look was a "hook fracture", but no one ever contacted me they just billed me for everything I might need. I will definitely never go here again. Ask billing questions before you go if you're insurance doesn't cover anything. The doctor visit was very quick as I only had a slight fracture. No need to set. Soft cast which I already had, but they thought one a slight amount sturdier would be better. Not worth what I was billed for it. No complaints about the staff, like I said was in and out in no time as the fracture was slight. The soft cast and the doctor bill threw me for a loop though. Next time urgent care as the prices for self pay would have been much much lower.

SO TODAY IS MY FIRST VISIT HERE AND MY APPT WAS AT 10:45 IT'S NOW 11:55 SO I HAVE AN ATTITUDE I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND.

Leaving 5 stars on the scheduling experience alone and specifically for my interaction with Sammy. My appointment was canceled last minute (totally understand—stuff happens). Sammy took my call to help with rescheduling and she was very kind, helpful and informative throughout our entire interaction. I actually initially reached out to MedStar as a second option only because I had a very negative experience trying to schedule a first-time patient appt with a different ENT/provider. The medical system is extremely difficult to navigate, and add to that, you’re usually seeking care because you’re in a vulnerable state and your quality of life has been diminished in some way. When you have negative interactions, they become amplified, and alternatively, when you come across someone like Sammy who genuinely listens and tries to work with you, those small, pleasant interactions end up being really encouraging and meaningful. Sammy wasn’t able to reschedule me as quickly as I hoped (it would’ve been a month+ before the next available appt), but she made sure the right person reached out to me in very short time (not even 10 min after we got off the phone) to get me in sooner (within a week). So despite a last min reschedule, big kudos to Sammy and the entire admin team for making what could have been a negative experience into an extremely positive one.

Im new to MedStar and thus far I have had two appts at this location (separate depts). Wait times were exceptional and staff has been very professional! I will definitely be returning for all future appts

Absolutely the most pathetic unprofessional people in the medical field I've ever come in contact with in my 63 yeard!!!!

Staff was very polite, customer service was great. Everyone seem to be knowledgeable of what I needed in relations to my visit. The NP Ms McCoy took all the time she needed to learn about me and my health. She constructed a complete plan for my health situations, that showed me how important my health was to her. I would recommend anyone to this medical facility.

Kristen at check in was absolutely outstanding with her courteous, warm, and professional demeanor! Naje was exceptionally patient with the challenges we had with my procedure me despite how long Tina at checkout was courteous and helpful as well! Of course my NP, Sloan always totally rocks!!

Short waiting time and great care

All the staff were very courteous and professional. I appreciate how thorough NPA McCoy was in reviewing my medical history and how she listened to my concerns

Everyone wore masks. The check - in was quick. Wait time acceptable. Waiting area still Social Distancing. The nurse screening was as expected. The additional questions and exam by Dr. Norwood was done with care. Everything was announced before action. Dr. Norwood took her time and answered all of my questions. I am so happy that she is my doctor. I received by Flu, and Tetanus shot after my visit with my doctor. I went home with my blood work order, my Mammogram order and a copy of my visit information.
