List of Brendan F. Burke's Reviews
Dr. Burke is very knowledgeable, effective, and kind.
Dr Burke is an expert clinician with a wonderful bedside manner. I have had five or six other OBGYNs when I lived in other towns, and I found the care Dr Burke and his staff provided to be far better than average. Wait times were always short, and he took time at each visit to answer my questions and supported all of my decisions re: birth plan (natural) while managing my at-risk pregnancy. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
He is cold and does not support natural birth. My c section scare is more like 1920’s.
This place is amazing - I will start with the office staff: I just moved to the District, and I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Burke, the office staff got me in within two weeks, they had taken all of the necessary COVID precautions, and were all incredibly polite and professional. I didn't wait long, and they made the entire process so incredibly easy. They put me at ease in both the intake process and preliminary height/weight/blood pressure measurements. Now, Dr. Burke: Dr. Burke held a consultation with me in his office, where he made sure that I didn't feel rushed, and let me tell him about all of the possible health anxieties I have. He was extensively informative about a whole host of concerns that I brought up, he genuinely listed and heard me. He made me feel so comfortable. Not only very personable, but clearly an expert in his field. He referred me to a mammogram center that he knows and really trusts, communicating to me that even though I'm a brand new patient, he is going to do his best by me to help me feel safe and healthy. I sincerely look forward to seeing Dr. Burke as my primary care physician and women's health physician for as long as I remain in D.C. If I could give the overall experience more than five stars, I certainly would.
I don’t trust him anymore
Very nice and professional, but follows mainstream old-school medical model to a T. Very limited knowledge of natural birth, breastfeeding, VBAC, and vaccines. Over uses ultrasound and Uses typical medical fear-mongering, i.e.- "if you have a VBAC your baby and you will die". "You need to give your baby a bottle so you can rest your nipples" Seriously? What is this? ...1950? Typical Georgetown education. Nice guy, but I hope he's educated himself since I last saw him 13 years ago. Glad I didn't listen to his fear-mongering and had a natural homebirth after his unnecessary c- section and prenatal testing. BTW, guess which kid is healthier, my first or second? Update yourself, Dr. Spock!!!
It has been 18 years. I still think of Dr. Burke. He stood in for a [female] Doctor I had hoped would deliver my baby. Dr.Burke was uber-sensitive to my needs and modesty, even "schooling" the nurse who was ignoring all our requests. I still say my delivery could have been broadcast on national TV and I -- one who is so modest -- would have been ok. Dr. burke had all doors closed, about seven sheets covering me, and too was conservative in his approach.Yes, this was 18+ years ago. I will never forget his attention to my needs and sense of respect for our family needs. (Let's all agree that the mother's needs at the time of delivery reflects the entire family's needs)
Dr. Burke has been my obstetrician/Gynecologist for more than 15 years. My daughters are also his patients. He is simply the best!
Dr. Burke is exceptional! He's taken extraordinarily good care of my wife and has delivered 5 of our children. He is tops!
No finer OBGYN in DC area. He was recommended by my primary care physician when I returned from living overseas and was facing the possibility of breast cancer in both breasts--which fortunately proved benign. Burke is smart, empathetic and a great communicator. He cares and listens, and is always available.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
