Best orthopedic surgeon anywhere!!! Made me feel very comfortable about my surgery.

I had a partial knee replacement in December 2021 at Massachusetts Avenue Surgery Center who used OutcomeMD to measure my symptoms before and during my treatment.My Knee Symptom Score was 64 before surgery and my score has improved to 93 so far in less than 6 months!Thank you Massachusetts Avenue Surgery Center and Dr. SIRAM for helping me get such a great outcome!

Dr. Siram may be an excellent surgeon, but when it comes to followup care post surgery, his practice is a MAJOR disappointment. I was discharged from his surgery center less than three hours after my surgery began, given some printed instructions and .... that was it. No one from Dr. Siram's office ever called to check how I was doing, and when I called for advice/help with pain management, the only people I heard back from were medical assistants who gave me conflicting and confusing info on what drugs I should be taking and how often I should be using them. It took three full days to have a badly need prescription for painkillers correctly called into my pharmacy. Total knee replacement is a painful surgery so it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect a surgeon or other doctor to be available to help manage that pain in the immediate aftermath. That was decidedly NOT what happened. Unless you're looking for a DIY experience, I suggest looking for another surgeon,

Dr. Siram is unquestionably an absolutely outstanding surgeon. While his training and surgical outcomes are fantastic, his caring, listening, attention also get top marks. He clearly loves his work and is greatly respected by the medical community. During my initial visit, he took his time reviewing my medical issues and carefully discussed all treatment options. He never pushed for surgery, through that was the route I would choose to fully enjoy a planned month of hiking out west and to be able to quickly return to my previous very active lifestyle. A few hours after surgery, I was on my way home having walked with a walker, including up and down steps. The next day a friend went with me via Uber to my first PT appointment. I am now only 3 weeks out from my surgery and I am already walking a mile with very little discomfort. Amazing! Not surprisingly, everyone I know who has been fortunate to have found Dr. Siram are equally pleased and every practitioner only has glowing remarks about his professional expertise. I only wish I had found Dr. Siram two years ago. Unfortunately, that time Dr. Anthony Unger was my surgeon. He was cold and seemed rushed from my first appointment through my recovery and poor surgical outcome. If you are searching for a surgeon you can trust, Dr. Guatam Siram is terrific in every way!

Dr. Siram and his team performed my first (left) hip replacement in August 2017 at Sibley Hospital when my family and I were living in Washington, DC. I was so pleased with the results - I was back in my office and taking long walks along the C&O canal within a few weeks - that I saw fit to travel from my new home in Stockholm, Sweden to Washington in July 2021 for Dr. Siram to perform my second (right) hip replacement. So far, so good. Because I traveled alone, Dr. Siram’s office put me in touch with Grand Oaks, an assisted living facility adjacent to Sibley Hospital, where I stayed for one week after my surgery until I was back on my feet again. I later moved into a hotel for another three weeks and continued with physical therapy at Sibley 2-3x/week before returning safely and uneventfully to Stockholm. In conclusion, it was four weeks ago today since my surgery and I walked three miles in a forest near my home today, climbed a bunch of stairs, did my PT exercises, worked, BBQd and cleaned up. All a way of saying I'm back to my usual routines. I’ve already phased out most of my prescription meds and I’ll stop using them altogether in a few days. Thank you, Dr. Siram, Ashley, Suzanne, and Jara for taking such good care of me these past weeks, and for planning and organizing my surgery from six time zones away (no easy feat), and arranging my preop tests, covid tests, and follow up appointments for me on short notice. Everything went down like clockwork. Thank gawd I won’t require replacement of a 3rd hip, but if I did, you know where I’d go.

Excellent overall experience in my Hip Replacement surgery June 2021 performed at Sibley Hospital in DC. Dr. Gautam Siram and Ashley, his assistant, were attentive, timely and considerate all along the process - pre op and post op. Kept me fully informed and, most importantly, always available for consultation by email, whether it was about medication or swelling or other relevant matters. Thank you Dr. Siram and your staff. A very satisfied patient.

Dr Siram and his team performed a full hip replacement in August. Absolutely wonderful experience - very professional - everyone was top notch. And all in the middle of a pandemic 🤷‍♂️ I can’t reccomend him more - and seven months later I’m better than ever!

Dr. Siram did a full knee replacement for me. He was attentive and patient with me when we met to prepare for this, answering all of my questions and giving me a thorough run through of my options and possible outcomes. He was equally attentive on the day of the surgery, which was done at the Capital Orthopedic Surgery Center in Germantown, MD. I was in and out of surgery in just over an hour and walking an hour after that. His office staff and the staff at the surgery center were just great. I was well prepared ahead of time with their thorough instruction and well taken care of after. All in all, I felt like I was in the best of hands from beginning to end. I'm in week three of rehab and looking forward to returning to all of my favorite activities on my new knee.

I have had both Knees replaced one in December and the other in January. Dr. Siram, the staff his PA have all been terrific to me. Most importantly I can walk again! Knee Surgery at times is difficult, but well worth it!!

Dr Siram did an outstanding job replacing both of my hips. His skill and minimally invasive technique reduce pain and recovery time . I highly recommend him.
