List of Stuart Schatz's Reviews
I'm visiting from out of state and my contact lens ripped in my eye. Yvette got me in quickly and replaced my contact lens right away. She kindly and generously helped me out and I am eternally grateful. She's an Angel on Earth!
I have been a patient of Dr. Schatz for more years than I can remember. He came highly recommended by someone I have the utmost respect for and he did not steer me wrong. Dr. Schatz is a professional who cares about the health of my eyes and has always treated and recommended what is best to ensure I have healthy eyes for years to come. The staff has always treated me with respect, Carol, Sonia, Claudia, among others have been professional and welcoming with each visit. I could say so much more but will close by saying I would still be a patient today had I not relocated so far from his office. I can only hope I will find another eye doctor who provides me with such excellent care.
I've been a patient of Dr. Schatz for over 40 years and have complete trust in him and his staff for my eye care. I definitely have challenges with my vision and Dr. Schatz has been tireless in doing research and addressing those challenges with successful results. His practice has helped me, my husband, son and daughter-in-law as well. We would all enthusiastically recommend his office and practice to anyone, but especially for those who have special needs with their vision.
I cannot put into words what this man has taken from me financially, emotionally, and physically. I was all but scammed out of my money. They will patronize, gaslight, and demean you. The other reviewer speaking on that is 100% correct. Over a thousand dollars later, I can't wear the contacts Dr. Schatz gave me because they're so uncomfortable. Keeps telling me I'm using the 'wrong kind' of eyedrops. I have a silicone allergy. The new lenses have silicone in them. The old lenses did not. I never felt the old lenses for 12+ hours. They won't give me my money back. They won't do anything for me. They took my money. The glasses? Well, the first time they gave me the wrong lenses and I was literally falling over myself as I walked home. I went back and they had to tell off the lady that helped me because of the mistake. Offered a discount for the corrected lenses. New pair came in, defected they told me. Third pair came in. Optician wasn't there for my appointment so when I did get them, there was a large distortion on the lens. I haven't gotten what I paid for, and the 'professionals' at Contact Lens Associates have made sure that my entire experience was as miserable as they feel. Never come here. You will not get helped with your eyesight. You are not paying extra for quality care. You will not get what you want. Go somewhere else. These people took my money and ran.
This place is terrible. He has agreements with private vendors so if you ask for other brands besides the ones he recommends, he won’t give you a prescription to buy them elsewhere. He doesn't care why you are visiting them. Save your money and find a better eye doctor. Never coming back, taking my business to someone who cares and works with me.
I never write reviews. But, honestly, I had a terrible experience with Dr. Schatz last Saturday. I came in with very irritated eyes and a potential eye infection after falling asleep with my contact lens' in, and Dr. Schatz patronized me. I completely understand that I shouldn't have, but it was a mistake. And he made me feel very small.... Turns out I did not have an eye infection, to which he said I was "extremely lucky, because I probably should have one." After I asked him to please check again because my eyes were so irritated and I was worried, he told me that "I'm worried about the wrong things, he can't make up a diagnosis and that I should worry about how I fell asleep in the contacts to begin with." Truly ridiculous and disrespectful. We all have bad days and I get that, but, reprimanding a patient because they did something you disapprove of is something no one wants from a doctor's visit. The office was nice and the receptionist was also very sweet. But I will not be returning, and I honestly, do not recommend.
Very clean office and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
I have been going to Dr. Schatz for follow-up on Lasik in 2002. The staff, students, and Dr are always professional and I have no complaints.
Agree with other reviewers... Dr. Schatz is condescending and sometimes even arrogant. Is not personable at all - never offers up information. I won't be back.
They do not check their work. I got a glasses prescription with an error in it- there was a typo (a digit was missing) and when I pointed out he was able to identify it as an error immediately. Of course this is after I got 2 pairs of glasses made (sent the 1st ones back because they didn't work. Of course the 2nd ones had the same problem)... and after I noticed the glasses prescription was vastly different from my contact prescription... So he doesn't look at the prescriptions his machines give to you. His response was that he was surprised someone would make me glasses with a digit missing and that the machines had such a weird error. So yeah. His staff was friendly. The glasses are all designer and very expensive. If you want any information from him, you have to ask. He does not volunteer any information freely. Even the results of a scan. The eye doctor at Costco is SO MUCH BETTER! He's friendly, likes his job and will talk to you! I wish I went there first!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
