Rajiv Dua's Online Review Report Card

I came to Dr. Dua three years ago while he was accepting new patients. Recently, I had autoimmune complications from CV19. Since I have been out of the hospital, he schedules regular appointments to monitor my care and healing - while I wait for an new patient appointment with an Endocrinologist (3.5 mo wait list). I can tell that he cares about me and is a great listener. He is generally stoic, but it makes the moments that he is enthusiastic and emotive more valuable. I am happy and comfortable in his care. I trust what he has to say. It is nice to have a MD that will listen and have an honest discussion. I highly recommend him. With his guidance, I have lost 50 lbs and have many of my vitals + markers back into normal ranges.

Dr Dua appears staggeringly disinterested in his job. As a clinician, he is incapable of being proactive or curious, or offering concrete, actionable, helpful health guidance to his patients. His affect is completely flat — he appears anhedonic and possibly deeply depressed. Sad as that is on a human level, it also bodes poorly for his patients: the advice I’ve heard him administer about mental health is abysmal and awash in outdated misconceptions and microaggressions. I have a family member who has been under Dr Dua’s care for a handful of years, and their overall health has declined sharply during that time. It’s clear as day: this is someone who has no passion for medicine and never wanted to be a doctor. Run free, Rajiv. Go be a painter or a high school chemistry teacher or a paragliding instructor — or literally any other profession that does not involve helping people with their health problems.

Dr. Dua is fantastic. He is very thoughtful and takes the time to figure out what is going on with his patients. Highly recommend.

Great doctor! I have been seeing Dr. Dua for over 2 years. He is very open minded and accommodating. Takes the time as my primary care doctor to answer all my questions and I love the convenience of the patient portal to refill medications and schedule appointments.

Dr Dua is a straight forward doctor who tells it like it is. Some of these folks who gave a bad rating must be oversensitive people. He's the best PC doctor I have ever had.

I have been patient of Dr. Dua for 20 years. He does not push any unnecessary medicine and listens to my issues patiently.

I was put in a follow up procedure with Dr. Dua. He has treated me very kindly and he is very good at his profession. I am glad that I got examined by Dr. Dua.

Dr Dua is awesome! Straight to the point and tells it like it is. Looks like some people took that the wrong way. Service from the office was terrific also... Highly recommended doctor and the practice...

Really poor patient service. I recently ran out of my diabetes medicine due to Dr Dua's refusal to provide me the refill. My pharmacy called in, I called in, my wife called in multiple times over the course of two weeks. Their office had no reply. Today, I was told that I needed to come to the office to get the refill. Dr. Dua was not going to be available but they said that he did not need to see me. When I went to office, I asked the office staff why did I have to be there if Dr. Dua was not even going to see me? Why could not the process be completed over the phone? The staff's answer was - it was their policy to see patients every 6 months as they can only bill to insurance when the patient reports to the office so it was the procedure for all patients. I got frustrated and demanded that Dr. Dua see me. I was told that he did not need to see me but he can see me the following week. Not only that, now that I was arguing - they refused to provide the medicine until doctor sees me. Now I am going to be out of my medicine for one more week. I have already not taken my medicine for one week and now we are adding one more week on top! I have never have this type of poor experience with Health Care Providers. This was the worst! Needless to say - I am notifying HCP Licensing Board and Maryland office of Health Care Quality regarding this incidence.
