We literally waited for 4 hours in a empty er but they said they were full we get back there and every single room is empty this place is the biggest joke around
Maternity ward is a joke. Went there 20 weeks pregnant for cramps and extreme bleeding. Went there because they are the closest hospital by the way and I felt like this was an emergency! Wasn’t even checked for the cause of bleeding till 3 hours after arriving. Was told by Doctor Hawkins that my cervical stitch came undone and that was I was dilating. Then upon release after basically making me feel like I was gonna lose my baby, they discharged me from triage and had me walk ALL the way to the emergency room where I came in at… that’s a long walk for someone who is dilating and bleeding at 20 weeks. Mind you they didn’t even check me till my mother called them and told them that I was still bleeding and had bled through my underwear! Thank GOODNESS I had an appointment the next day with my doctor in Towson because she informed me I was NOT dilated and I did NOT tear my stitch. I was bleeding from my placenta. Which isn’t good either but better than thinking I was going to lose my child! I’m so glad union is not my obgyn and I will not be returning for ANYTHING baby related.
Should be renamed to Christiana don’t care for how long they make people wait. We saw people pass out in the er and throw up and still they had to wait. Best three and a half experience of my life to be seen to wait another hour!!
Everyone at the hospital was so awesome to me from the ER to the in side the hospital thank you Union hospital.

Where do I start let's see 1. Walk in to the er and the place was nasty 2. When I was checking in the lady behind the window was on her phone didn't even know I was there till I sat down in front of her. 3. When I was checking in I told the lady that I was having really bad chest pain but that went pretty fast they got a ekg done on me pretty fast so that was a plus. 4. After the ekg I was told to go back and sit in the waiting room till they have a room available and they will take me back I sat in the er waiting room in really bad pain in my chest for 6 hours till I got a room . 5. My thing is I come from a family history for heart attack and they tell me to sit in the waiting room till they get a room for me. 6. This hospital needs to get there stuff together in a really bad way because if someone comes in saying that they are having very bad chest pain that should come 1st over anything now that I have been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and if I have to go back to the er I'm not sure if I want to go to this emergency room and have to sit and wait for hours or just get told there are no rooms available right now .Just not very happy with this hospital
I went to this hospital with a blood pressure 220/111, they took my pressure & could clearly see I couldn’t talk & I was really sick the nurse pushed me back to the waiting area, I told her please don’t swing me around I’m very dizzy, her response was, I have a lot of people here to care for I have to rush, I thought how rude I sat there for 6 hours before going back when I did go back the desk was nothing but laughing, & carrying on, they were have fun & not considering patients are sick, quite would be nice , 6 hours all I heard was loud laughing.
The first time I took my mom to the hospital was on Friday 12/29/23 we were there from 11:30am till 5:45 pm, my mom wasn’t seen till 2:42pm. The doctor Dr. Alego was very nice, kind and professional. The nurses, Heather, Brittany, Allison and Sam were also very nice, kind and professional. They listened to my moms concern and made sure to know what the reason for my mom’s pain was. The doctor told her to come back on Sunday if the pain was still occurring. We returned on Sunday at 6:30 am and my mom wasn’t seen till 10am. What kind of hospital makes a patient wait four hours to be seen? The people that came behind my mom were seen before her and that happened on Friday too. The visitor policy that you guys have needs to change. They almost didn’t allow me to stay with my mom overnight. I told them that my mom doesn’t understand certain words in English so I need to be by her to translate for her and be able to translate for the doctor and nurses too. My mom slept overnight at the hospital on Sunday night and the night staff only one nurse was really nice and was able to understand what my mom needed. One of the night nurses told me that I couldn’t use the same bathroom as my mom and needed to use the bathroom in the hallway. I don’t understand why I couldn’t use the same bathroom as my mom. What would’ve happened if I woke up in the middle of the night to use that bathroom and might have fallen down? Plus during the day I wanted to use that bathroom but it was very nasty and not even clean. When someone is sick they shouldn’t be with someone else in the same room especially when they want to relax. They put another woman in the same room as my mother and didn’t even ask her if she was comfortable sharing that room. They started talking with her quietly and started to laugh with her while one of the nurses was treating us with disrespect. The mean night nurse was talking quietly and asking the roommate was it a problem if my mom was in the same room as hers because she doesn’t understand a lot of english. It’s none of her business and if she didn’t like it she could’ve went to a different room because she started to put her phone volume up to the point where my mom was getting a headache. My mom asked her if she could put the volume down but she didn’t answer until a nurse came and asked her to put it down. But the night nurses couldn’t have asked my mom if it was alright with her? I can’t remember her name but one of the night nurses was really nice and she gave me a blanket and a pillow and made sure if I needed something else. Ever since the union hospital became with christiana care it went down the drain. Union hospital used to care about their patients but now with christiana care they are no longer about them.
Horrible experience. My mother was in excruciating pain with inability to walk. They said she did not qualify for admittance after doing tests. PT eval said unsafe to go home but they said they couldn’t keep her because of her type of insurance. She was sent home with no ability to walk- this was an active person three days prior. Thankfully we took her to UPenn the next day, after she had two falls at home and extreme pain, where she was admitted, diagnosed, a treatment plan was started, and will be released to an acute rehab facility shortly. She already has some feeling back in legs. Diagnosed with Gillian barre that without proper treatment can effect your ability to breathe and require intubation. Thank good we got her true medical care. Stay far away for serious conditions.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
