David E. Gwinn's Online Review Report Card

I don't agree with all the glowing reviews of Dr. Gwinn. I have been to other doctors in the past for my back. They show me the results of the MRI (including pictures), explain the situation in detail, and go over alternative methods of treatment before surgery. Dr. Qwinn did not do this. He walked in, let me know what I already read in the MRI report (making me question if he even looked at the MRI's himself), and said to get an injection. When I said that I am not comfortable with shots because they are a bandaid, he said he wouldn't do any surgery until I got it done. I don't want surgery anyway which I had already expressed to him! I think there are better specialists and offices out there for a more personal and patient experience.

Made an appointment for the Urbana office and printed confirmation so I had the address. They claimed I had no appointment, made no offer to fit me in or even to make an appointment right then for another time. Not even a "Sorry. We don't know what happened."

Dr Gwinn is the BEST Surgeon! If it weren’t for him, I probably wouldn’t be able to walk today.

Dr. Qwinn is very personable and highly competent using multiple diagnostic techniques to confirm diagnosis and determine treatment strategy. Having consulted with numerous neurosurgeons and orthopedists over the last 4 years for multiple spine issues, Dr. Qwinn was the most thorough and was able to fully correct issues left by a previous surgeon.

This was my first visit with Dr. Gwinn for a herniated disc. He knew right away what was needed after seeing my symptoms. Very friendly and knowledgeable and confident. Came up with a plan based on my issue and look forward getting the help I need. Was seen fairly quickly and the office is clean and spacious. Recommend!

Dr. Gwinn was wonderful. He read my ex-ray and CT and accurately assessed my low back situation. I have the upmost confidence in his expertise.

I have been a patient at Montgomery Orthopaedics, Chevy Chase Office for a number of years, but this was my first appointment with Dr. Gwinn for severe back pain due to spine instability. He and his assistant were very kind and professioinal. Dr. Gwinn asked questions, listened to everything I said, reviewed my latest MRI and ordered x-rays. He not only discussed options for treatment, but took into account the fact that I am the primary caregiver to an elderly parent with Parkinson's. Dr. Gwinn prescribed medication and when I meet with him in 8-10 weeks, we will discuss further treatment and/or surgery. Dr. Gwinn is extremely knowledgeable and I have complete confidence is his abilities. I now have another doctor added to my amazing team at Montgomery Orthopaedics.

I have visited Montgomery Orthopedics several times over the years and have now seen 3 difference doctors (knee, hand, back/sciatica). They are the best and never rush to surgery as an option. The practice is run professionally, the staff friendly and offices clean and comfortable.
