List of Mark Birns Md's Reviews
Dr. Birns is an excellent doctor who has compassion for his patients. I respect his knowledge and feel that he is one of the best GI doctors in the area. He has been my doctor since the 80"s!!!
Dr. Birns came off as a creepy 80s doctor to me. He was overly touchy, seemed to ignore my concerns, and denigrated the benefits of the FODMAP diet which is widely accepted for IBS, Colitis and Crohns.
A doctor that still hears what a patient says a true doctor thanks dr burns
Positive +++
Dr. Birns has a tremendous respect for the needs of his patient and he is on top of new medical advances and common sense doctoring.
I first saw Dr Birns in 2006. Nothing about this man's love for his craft has changed in 12 years. He is exceptional in that he listens, cares and delivers his consultation with lightheartedness and empathy. During your appointment you will feel like the only patient he has for the day. He is also still very plugged into the latest research the GI medical community publishes. Not to mention his staff is very pleasant and coordinated. With my family history of Chron's and gastric cancer, I could not afford to have lesser care than Dr Birns gives.
Dr. Birns is always very through with explanations and very personably. Easy to talk with about procedures.
I have been a patient with Dr. Birns for several years. I feel that he is one of the best gastroenterologists and would highly recommend him. I never have to wait more than 15 minutes to be seen for appointments. He is wonderful to talk to about health concerns, and he is very thorough with addressing solutions. I have had several colonoscopies or endoscopies, and have been very pleased with his procedures and his staff, who are also very attentive and personable, as well.
Although he did prescribe something that made me a bit better, he hasn’t been at all good about follow-up, which I needed desperately. I told him I was extremely skidding, embarrassed, afraid and he did not really make me feel better. As a matter of fact, I cannot forget his comment about “Youre lucky I didn’t stick my finger (not verbatim but close) in your butt like I wanted to determine if there was blood” AFTER I told him how modest I am. Bad communications with assistant as well. She was trying to order up tests I’d already had. Not dealing with the issue at all, but a side issue they found on scans which is not bad or life threatening it painful at all. Takes five minutes to get through to a RECORDING. So disappointing. Now, I need to be ill until a new gastro can take me in.
Dr. Mark Birns is one of the best that that I visit...actually the very best.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
