Moustafa Ahmed's Online Review Report Card

Seems to exist to funnel patients to his off-site endoscopy center (gotta pay for that $1.5M house in Potomac somehow). After suffering through an hour in waiting room with whiny old busybodies, doctor finally appears only to immediately decide a colonoscopy in order after spending mere 5 minutes (few basic questions, stethoscope, blood pressure), did NOT examine the problem (clue was nurse not asking to undress). So complete waste of time with no relief for the acute problem as he provided no treatment options or advice. As for the office staff, makes you redo all the paperwork despite filling out online, the chubby woman cuts you off if you question anything, they even changed some answers without permission. The clinic is some old house with very thin walls that you can hear everyone’s conversations. Parking is a pain, have to fight for parallel street spots unless you want risk getting towed using the other clinics’ lots as they suggested. Only went here due to insurance, but would rather travel further to a real clinic where doctor actually tries to help your immediate problem instead of railroading you into using his endoscopy center.

Don’t count on this medical “practice” to get it right, or to have concern for prompt heath care of those who will not be generating a profit for them.I was referred to Dr Ahmed by my primary care doctor.I called for an appointment, they collected my insurance info with particular detail.We scheduled an afternoon appointment for an upcoming Tues afternoon.All seemed well!They called me on Tuesday a week before the appointment at 9:59 AM “You have an appointment we need to talk about”I called back at 1:20 pm that same day but received the recording: “Please call back during business hours”!OK at that point I should have figured something was fishy here…I planned to call back on Friday but lo! They sent me a text asking me to confirm the appt…So I confirmed and assumed all was well!Why was I not so surprised when I showed up at Dr Ahmed’s office and they turned me away saying they won’t take my insurance?A loud voice from the other room said that they called me three times, most recently this morning before the appt.In that message (just a few hours before my appt , I foolishly didn’t check my messages)she said my appt was cancelled as they do not deal with my insurance anymore.Why didn't they let me know AT THE TIME I GAVE THEM THE INSURANCE INFO? They waited until the last minute to notify me.Now I have to start all over again - and wait again for another appt. I guess I’ll be more skeptical with the next referral doctor.I should have taken the other negative reviews more seriously.Also judging on the interior layout , this structure looks like it was probably a detention facility. Bleak.TLDR:Don’t count on this medical “practice” to get it right, or to have concern for prompt heath care of those who will not be generating a profit for them.

have a chronic issue and all Dr. Ahmed wanted was to perform colonoscopy, which he did....that was it. Problem continues, no further interest in solving it for me. Wont be going back

Dr. Ahmed and his staff are WONDERFUL!!! Helped me through a medical emergency with care and compassion. Dr. Ahmed took his time to discuss the procedure, making me feel comfortable. His follow-up was just as caring. I recommend everyone to him!

An amazing, kind and knowledgeable physician. He takes a lot of time with each patient. Office staff is very helpful. I would highly recommend Dr Ahmed.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ahmed for a few years. He was good enough to diagnose a liver issue I have when other doctors could not for awhile. He has given me great care with my colonoscopies when needed. He is always kind, compassionate, and cares about his patients. His office is close to Frederick hospital and I have seen him rush there on many occasions to help patients with emergencies. I also can’t say enough for his great staff who also have been kind to me on every call and every office appointment. I can honestly say Dr. Ahmed is my favorite doctor I see currently and I am very grateful and I trust in his practice.UPDATE.. 10/7/2021.. The office staff lately has been very unprofessional and rude. This does reflect on Dr. Ahmed which has made me update my rating. Very disappointing.

Dr. Ahmed has been my GI doctor for many years, but I just need to let other patients know how badly my last phone experience was with his, RECEPTIONIST, and OFFICE MANAGER DONNA, they both were extremely rude and to say the least down right disrespectful. I TRULY TRUST AND RESPECT DR. AHMED PROFESSIONAL ADVISE, but the staff is the worst ever, the most TERRIBLE, BELLIGERENT, UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN A DOCTOR S OFFICE IN MY LIFE TIME OF 70 YRS.

Dr Ahmed’s office and staff are the best. This visit I came in from out of town and was taken care of with no hesitation. Reading other posts is by no means the experience I’ve ever had for over 14 years with Dr Ahmed or staff. Donna, Laurie & Ashley I can’t say enough of. They go above and beyond to assure your taken care of.

Very pleaded with speed of getting an appointment and how caring all staff is. Surgical facility was just awesome. Clean, fast and attentive. Good communication.

Dr Ahmed and his staff are wonderful! They always make myself and my family, who are all his patients, fell welcome and comfortable. Dr Ahmed really listens to what you have to say and then treats the problem or orders the correct diagnostic tests to determine the problem and correct it. I would never go anywhere else!
