Dr. Sjaarda is an outstanding doctor. My spouse and I trust him completely. He gave me back my sight in both eyes on separate occasions. He is an expert in his field and has a wonderfully gentle, kind and calming demeanor. One must occasionally wait for a bit for a regular checkup because Dr. Sjaarda does, thankfully, take an emergency (a possible detaching retina) ahead of regularly scheduled appointments, as in that emergency situation, every minute unaddressed could mean further or total loss of vision. Please, emergency patients, I happily concede my place in the appointment line to you. Having been rushed to the front of 'the line' myself, I viscerally understand the importance of someone in potentially dire need, going ahead of me. I just find myself hoping that their vision, like my own, is attended to in time for Dr. Sjaarda to be able to come to their aid. IMO he is absolutely a Top Doc. I'm so grateful to have been referred to him.

I have been a patient for the past few years and am 46 w complications due to diabetes. Dr. Shaarda and his staff is absolutely amazing. The staff has stayed the same for all the years I have been a patient which says so much about the office and kind structure they hold. I worry as they all work so hard with daily long hours and I hope they all get a break this holiday and we as patients can hold off so they can take time to take care of themselves and their time w family. performed multiple surgical

Dr. Sjaarda saved my sight and keeps working on it. He is patient, knowledgable and a real person. He's not afraid to talk to you and with you. I've had too many doctors talk at me. He knows his profession and is truly a blessing for so many of us.

This is so obnoxious. Always have a long wait. Heard he sees 60 patients a day. People are getting so frustrated. Last time we waited two hours and today one hour so far. No good recommendation here. No apologies either from the staff or doctor.

I have been seeing Dr. Sjaarda for a little over two years. I have diabetic retinopathy, macular edema and have had 3 eye hemorrhages and he took care of everything and my eyes are healthy and I have excellent eye sight. He did surgery on me and it went smoothly and I had great results. He is an excellent surgeon who truly cares about his patients. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Highly skilled and very knowledgable when I was suddenly afflicted with a retinal issue. Despite the urgency of the situation, he explained a clinical trial in Boston and offered to try to get me enrolled if I wanted to do that instead of surgery. Two successful surgeries and excellent follow-up care. Has always taken the time to answer all my questions, providing explanations at a level I can understand--often a challenge with specialists like this.
