DISCLAIMER: i am a former ICU RN with over 33+ years experience. I have had the pleasure of going to GREAT MD offices that are organized and well run with great staff. and I have had the total opposite. Dr Mekuria is EXCELLENT. she is conservative, takes an excellent medical history, listens and issues reasonable and appropriate interventions. I first went in June after noting I had a sudden and unexpected increase in my BP readings. I am a long-distance cycling, runner and am VERY FIT, so this was unusual. I had an abnormal ECG upon my first visit along with the persistent elevated BP reading. i was kinda a "zebra". so she ordered that i undergo a Cardiac CT a 2D echo and carotid ultrasound to further investigate. i did all that (with the dedicated and personalized assistance of her front office staff. Long story short, I have a very slightly enlarged heart due to my exercise conditioning, but i also had new onset hypertension which required medication. We mutually discussed the best med which would work while not interfering with my very very active lifestyle. so far so good and my numbers are trending downward and the med may need further tweaking. This office is ORGANIZED, communicates well, no drama and very flexible and personable in helping all folks of all walks of life. It is a smaller practice- I fond this to be a HUGE positive factor. So, if you want more calm, one on one competent conservative cardiac care, i HIGHLY endorse Dr Mekuria.

Dr. Mekuria and her team honestly run the best medical office I've ever visited. I felt compelled to write a review because of how great their service was. The staff is so polite and kindhearted. They all take time to listen to your problems, and give off the impression that they genuinely care about your wellbeing. If you are looking for a cardiologist who takes the time to listen to your history and to develop a plan of care that best suits your personal needs, this is the place to go. Dr. Mekuria went above and beyond to make sure that I received the care that I needed. If I could give this practice more than 5 stars I would.

She really helped my mother and made sure the blockages in her heart were taken care of, she was so quick to take care of everything. She said it we would've waited any longer she would've needed open heart surgery. This woman is amazing.
