List of U.N.I Urgent Care Center's Reviews
I just went to see the staff here at this office. They were extremely friendly, helpful, and understanding despite me showing up at the very last couple of minutes. I'm glad I went here tonight. At the front desk, I had mentioned having trouble getting transportation, and by the time my appointment was over, they were orchestrating a taxi for me. They really take care of you here!
I am very disappointed. After waiting for over one hour with ONLY ONE person waiting ahead of us, the RUDE and disrespectful person who was in the front desk today told us we couldn’t be seeing there. I had a 9 year old with a twisted ankle in pain. Not just the waiting but the lady at the front desk rolling the eyes and being rude made our visit awful.
Honestly, I just needed to write this. About a week ago I walked in with a nasty cough and severe issues breathing. I figured it was a bad cold that needed antibiotics so I went in pretty last minute at around 4:30-5pm. There was very little wait time. The Dr was quick at assessing and very plainly said that I needed to go to the emergency room immediately. They gave me a nebulizer treatment to try to help me get to the hospital and even offered to get me an ambulance (I refused ) the staff periodically checked in on me, made sure I was alright and all around demonstrated empathy for the situation I was in and that they did not have the equipment needed to take care of me. Turns out I had pneumonia, minimal airflow to my lungs which had my O2 was dropping into the 80s, high BP and heart rate, and a massive asthma attack that I had been having for 3-4 days. I just want to thank them all for their full transparency, and urgency in getting me cared for.
Great urgent care
No. I would not recommend this urgent care to anyone looking for a swift response and compassionate care with time taken to listen and understand the patient’s position. Dr. Lovins was extremely dismissive and interrupted anything I had to say. He was extremely apathetic and acted as though he just wanted me out of his center as fast as he could get me out. He threw meds at my problem and told me to return to work in two days with a rotator cuff injury. Which I believe was misdiagnosed by him as a trapezius strain or spasm. When my employer told me I needed further documentation from them with a more informed decision about when I should return to work based off of the nature of my work (heavy construction and labor), I was sidestepped at every turn, dismissed, put on hold, told the DR wasn’t in every day I called(is he ever working?) Every day my injury isn’t diagnosed and provided with the proper care and assessment is a day longer that I have to wait to recover and to return to work so I can earn a living wage. The assistance I was provided was minimal and so lacked compassion that I am incensed and will never return again. Definitely think about going somewhere else.
Brought both my kids for illness because their regular clinic didn’t have availability for several days. Tested negative for COVID so they called it a viral cold. Fast forward and the pharmacy said the insurance denied coverage because the clinic would need to call to get authorization for use of a combo drug (a combo nasal spray) When I called back to U.N.I. they said “we don’t call for authorizations” you’ll just have to buy something over the counter then. Really??? All you had to do is call with a diagnosis!!! After being there 3 hours with only one other person in the waiting room they had more than enough time to make a phone call. The kids are absolutely miserable and getting worse. Would not recommend based on their internal procedures.
We received excellent care today from everyone at this urgent care! Thank you!!
Went to the Frederick location last week. Was greeted by a young man who was very polite and professional. I don't see him there much often, I believe he is from India (handsome, tanned skin, beautiful black silky hair). Ryan was my MA who took me back and was very professional. He took my vitals and went over my medication. Garry was the Doctor that day who was very knowledgeable and thorough. He answered all my questions and doubt. There was no wait time at all. I was in and out very fast!!!. Thank you UNI team for your good service!!!.
I came to the urgent care that is suppose to be open at 8 am. I was waiting to be seeing the in front desk told me the doctor does not come until 9 am. I feel really sick could not go anywhere else. This is very irresponsible.and careless about punctuality, and health of their patients. If doctor is not coming to see patients until 9 than they should be openning at 8:30am and not 8am. When you go to the doctor is because you are sick and you want the doctor to be there for you, not a this place. I hope this office can change the schedule and come to work on time.
Jessica Lloyd was my caring NP today when I went there. First, I just love this place. SO MUCH BETTER than going to the hospital. My experience today was SO fast, I was truly shocked how quickly they got me back and got my procedure done. Second, Jessica was WONDERFUL. This was my first encounter with her, and it makes me wish she was my normal doctor! She was so nice, so funny, down to earth. She genuinely listened to me, and worked quickly to get my procedure done, and did it as painless as possible, all the while making me feel comfortable and laugh. She was so great. Thank you guys!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
