0 is the honest rating. Prior to yesterday, I have never left a negative review for any doctor or business. The best feedback is not returning, however what do you do when your 16 year old daughter is under the care of a psychiatrist that tries to prescribe psychotropic medications, Prozac no less? Dr. Sinha attempted to prescribe Prozac without our consent, in fact with our direct refusal. Dr. Sinha started out listening to our perspective of not wanting our daughter prescribed medication, but within 3 days he had gone from supportive to pushing us to consider to it is his “expert opinion” to he won’t release our daughter and he will keep her hospitalized longer to he can prescribe her medication against our will since she is 16. Out daughter explicitly requested no medication when she was admitted and Dr Sinha was aware yet he continues to not only try and convince us and her but he went so fat as to tell her therapy alone will not work. My husband and I will continue to make parents aware of the dangers of having Dr Vikas Sinha as a pediatric psychiatrist until he is removed from his position at Franklin Square or he changes his practice of intimidation and forceful prescribing of psychotropic medication.
Parents beware! Our daughter was admitted to Franklin square hospital under the care of Dr. Vikas Sinha, if you can call him a doctor because he does not adhere to the hypocratic oath of do no harm. We made it clear we did not want our daughter medicated. We only wanted her to receive therapy. He agreed and stated he respected our decision. The next conversation, he said we should consider it. The next he said it was his medical recommendation. The next..he said “I THOUGHT you wanted to get your daughter help.” When that did not work, he said our daughter is 16, so he does not need our approval in the state of Maryland. The doctor who one week ago respected our opinion. Mind you, our daughter has no previous hospitalization for depression or anxiety. She has been diagnosed with PCOS and has been on multiple types of hormones to control the pain. She came off a few months ago which we saw a change and sought treatment. This is not a patient with a long standing history of depression and anxiety. Dr Vikas Sinha should lose his ability to practice. He is a pill pusher who threaten that he would not send our daughter home, even though we have a plan for her after care, unless we agreed to him prescribing antidepressants. If a 0 star was possible, he would receive that. My husband and I both have a medical background, but it scares me to know how his tactics work on desperate parents when they do not have understanding of the research. Can you imagine the intimidation to your child?
Parents beware. Dr. Sinha is anything but professional. If you do not agree with him prescribing psychotropic medication to your child, he will belittle you, threaten to not send your child home, and stoop so low as to saw he does not need your permission (once he realizes he can not get you to submit to his treatment plan). I worked in the medical field and I have never experienced treatment like ...

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
