List of National Spine & Pain Centers Germantown's Reviews
I love doctor Nicholas Tannous MD. He is very sweet and professional. He talks so politely and soft. He has good work etiquette. I do not want to change my pain doctor. Good Luck doctor Nic. All the best in life and in your profession.
Terrible atmosphere of many workers playing on phones as i stood there like what am I supposed to do. Then we get put in a room for 55min while they continue carrying on in the halls
I personally have not had great experiences with this practice. I followed Dr. De Lara there years ago who gave me injections but he left and another Dr came. I had a reaction to the spinal from him (can’t recall his name but he was a good doctor, although not Dr. De Lara). I did not want pain medication so was told by a PA there in 2020 I was going to be a quadriplegic if I didn’t get surgery and there was nothing else they could do for me. I immediately saw a Hopkins surgeon who said I needed surgery, but I sought a second dependent with Dr. Nicholas Theodore who said surgery wasn’t necessary yet. Five years later, my entire back is in severe pain and I’m about to travel so broke down to go back. Now there is a new Dr - Dr. Nicholson whom I will not ever go back to. He was arrogant and acted as if I was medication seeking when I’ve denied medication most of the years I did go there. He even questioned how long my upcoming flight to Europe was and pulled his phone up to check how long it takes to fly from my departure airport. Thankfully I had an appointment with a spine surgeon the following day and have since terminated my care with him. Very arrogant Doctor - not for me! His staff is nice enough, although a little chaotic. It doesn’t seem as professional as it used to be. I won’t be going back and am thankful I found a neurosurgeon to take over my care.
DO NOT RECOMMEND! THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, AND UNRESPONSIVE PEOPLE I'VE EVER COME ACROSS! HERE I AM LEAVING ANOTHER BAD REVIEW DUE TO BEING TOLD BY A NURSE TO MY FACE SAYING THE MEDS WERE SENT, THEY WERE NOT. I STARTED GOING THROUGH WITHDRAWALS INSTANTLY, AND THEY PLAY, FAR TOO MUCH. PATIENTS CAN HEAR THEM CARRYING ON IN THE BACK, LAUGHING, PARTYING, WHATEVER, DR. NICHOLSON INCLUDED. I'VE BEEN GOING HERE FOR OVER 10 YEARS, NEVER HAVE I BEEN TREATED SO BADLY. THIS OFFICE WENT TO CRAP WHEN DR. DELARA LEFT. THEY ALL COULD BENEFIT FROM MORE TRAINING ON CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Most UNPROFESSIONAL doctor's office I've EVER been in. The staff was laughing hysterically the whole time, making jokes, and carrying on like it was a high school party. Front desk guy was constantly performing like he was a stand up comedian. The rest of the staff was in a break room playing music, singing and gossiping. Doctor Nicholson was hanging out with them, carrying on, singing and showing off. Finally he rolled into my room wearing gym clothes, didn't introduce himself, said :"What's going on?" I told him my situation. He waited for me to stop talking and then just said: "Rehab and an MRI". He never examined me or looked at my injury or anything. Complete waste of my time.
Always friendly and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone with chronic pain or pain due to injuries.
If they'd do their jobs right, patients like myself wouldn't be suffering right now cause they don't get pre-authorizations for pain meds that I have now been without for A MONTH!!!! NEVER FAILS! TO BUSY PLAYING UP FRONT, AND PLAYING GAMES IN THE BACK. It's like a day care center for delinquents.
I've been going to NSPC for a few years, and it's always been a pleasant experience. They are kind and respectful. I've noticed that a lot of people who go here for treatment are miserable, but the staff choose to be patient, kind, and helpful. Thank you to all of you at the Germantown, MD. office.
Christopher Dale is the best Front Desk Maestro. He conducts that office like the different sections of an Orchestra, and is always a joy to see despite my needing to go to pain mgmt! Thanks for being awesome, Chris!
DO NOT use this practice. They are absolutely horrible, with the most disrespectful customer service. I have been left hanging with my medication several times now after being assured the doctor has called it in. Their hours of operation state they close at 5, yet today I called at 4:38 and they were already closed. Policy states that they must have a doctor on call but when I pressed the button to be connected I kept getting hung up on. This happened several times over a couple of hours. So not only did they close early, they had no way of allowing me to connect to the on-call doctor. How can a pain management practice operate this way? With absolutely no consideration for its patients who are in PAIN. I have been an NSPC patient for 8 years and when I was in the Rockville office I never had an issue. It was only when Rockville closed and I started at Germantown did I start having issues. Simply atrocious.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
