Valerie Callender's Online Review Report Card

Had an appointment with Dr. Patterson last Tuesday, where we discussed me started a 2nd round of accutane. I was a little thrown off during my appointment as she insisted I HAD to be on birth control in order to do another round of accutane with this practice. Now, I know that accutane is known for causing serious birth defects. However, I did my first course of Accutane with another dermatologist and chose abstinence as my "birth control" as I'm not a huge fan of birth control and the effects it has on women's bodies along with other complications it may cause me. You don't have to agree, but that's MY CHOICE. Abstinence is an approved birth control method through the ipledge program, and like I've said, I did it for my first round with no problem! I'm also not in a situation where I need to introduce such a thing to my body (if you know what I mean). But Dr. Patterson told me they had a girl get pregnant while on accutane 15 YEARS AGO. Not my problem or situation! I am not her. Anyways, after lots of push back, she told me they could send a form to get my doctors approval so that he would be "liable" if I were to get pregnant. That's a little dramatic, but OKAY. We ended the appointment and she said would have the paperwork sent over. It is now a week later and I have yet to hear or receive anything from these people. I have called FIVE times and no one has answered the phone--I even left TWO voicemails. While it may not be an urgent matter to you all, I have been suffering from acne since age 11 (now 23). It takes a significant toll on my mental health, so it is urgent to me! I'm the one dealing with it day-to-day and it's exhausting so I'm always anxious to start a treatment to provide some relief. That being said, in the time I've waited for you all to call back, I've found a new doctor, and hopefully one that will respect my wishes on what I chose to do and NOT to do with MY body. No need for a call now. Fair warning to everyone else: If good phone presence is important to you from your doctor, keep searching. This is probably a good place to visit if your needs are cosmetic. Medical? I'd think again.

I have been a patient for many years and I have watch this practice grow into the wonderful practice it is today.

I love Dr. Young. Very professional thorough and great bedside manners. Great assistant and front desk staff. That's why I keep coming back.

I waited almost 2 months to meet with noted Dr Callender I anticipated this visit. HOWEVER, I was told my appt would be virtual. I was very confused since i have issues with my skin. I waited 1 hour to speak with the Dr (again virtually) was rushed through my appt did not get any definite answers. My appt lasted 7 minutes and was told her office would follow up and I never heard from her again it's been a month.

Dr. Callender I am dealing with hair loss she is very on point with what I needed to help me. She doesn't keep you waiting forever to be seen and the staff is very professional. They offer a variety of services. Her office is beautiful, very clean and neat.

Once again, I had a great experience at Calendar Dermatology and Cosmetic Center. My physician is Dr. Young who always provides a great experience. Dr. Young is thoughtful and actually cares about her patients. I truly appreciate the service she provides!

I've been going to Dr. Callender for years and although I've relocated I have found my way back for my dermatology needs. They are quick, efficient, and always provides the best products to clearing up my face. They used to provide samples which was amazing but I'm not sure as I did a virtual appt. I would recommend!!

I had two visit to Dr. Callender's office and I had to wait for over 35 minutes before I was seen. When i got to the patient room, I then I had to wait again for 15 minutes. The first visit was good but the second visit was horrible. I was suppose to see the doctor but the PA saw me and she didn't understand what was going on. She kept going to Dr. Callender for answers.
