List of Vinay Desai's Reviews
Always paying good attention to my retinal issues and caught problems early when it happened. More than 15 years of being his patient.
Dr. Desai is excellent at informing the patient about the procedure and the expected outcome. I highly recommend Dr. Desai.
Very pleasant and efficient physician,
I was able to get the appointment right away. Dr. Desai was very thorough in his examination. The only thing I did not like was that I had to wait close to 3 hours to see the doctor. Later, it was explained to me that since I was added on the day of the appointment, they had to fit me in with other appointments. I would recommend the practice to inform that to the patient when they are making the appointment. That will help the patient. Otherwise the entire team was cordial and professional. Thanks for accommodating me in a short notice. Also, I want to thank Rita who was extremely kind in easing my nerves. Thanks for your professionalism.
The entire practice is so professional and nice. Dr. Desai explains to me my issues and we discuss my progress.
The pre-check was timely and well administered. Dr. Desai was very thorough and kept me comfortable through his examination and procedures. His thoughts on my progress were very helpful.
I was extremely fortunate to have Dr. Desai as my retina and vitreous surgeon when I started developing a vitreous detachment that eventually developed into a nasty macular hole. During this stressful time, Dr. Desai was always professional and courteous, his approach conservative. He took his time and patiently answered all of my questions during every visit. He was deliberate and meticulous during every examination. He clearly explained my options and potential results. He was always realistic about setting my expectations. During the vitrectomy, Dr. Desai was intensely yet calmly focused. I followed his recovery instructions and now enjoy excellent vision in that eye. I am forever grateful to him. I can’t recommend him strongly enough.

In the Rankin-Bass animated film version of J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Hobbit,' Thorin Oakenshield, dwarf leader, tells Bilbo Baggins, "You're our burglar, go burgle something" outside the crimson dragon Smaug's lair on Lonely Mountain. Dr. Desai, much like Tolkien's protagonist in the Hobbit, is a specialist, a retinal ophthalmologist to be precise; and, if you require such expertise, he fits the bill much better than Baggins fits his anticipated role. The reasons why one may be referred to a retinal ophthalmologist can be as unsettling as the obstacles in Bilbo's adventure, and the long wait times and Dr. Desai's bedside manner, much like Gandalf's, sometimes leave a lot to be desired, but his expertise is much needed and welcome.
Dr. Vinay is very good, however, the waiting is really bad. i came in at 2:45 and didn't leave until 5:15; my appointment was 3:00, however, i see people came after me went ahead of me i asked the nurse, she said because i was the same day add on the schedule so he has to put me as his last patient list. i didn't know i was add on when i called for schedule, she just said he is available if you want to come at 3pm today, I was really disappointed for the wait time, just sat there and wait for everyone past me, i don't feel comfortable special on this covid time.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
