I was put in for an emergency appt after having flashing and floaters in my eye. Very professional staff! Dr Parnes very knowledgeable and explained issues thoroughly. Reassurance given! THANKS FOR YOUR EXPERTISE!!
Dr Parnes was very knowledgeable and he took the time to clearly discuss my eye problem. He told me I didnt need a procedure another ophthalmologist recommended. His office scheduled me right away and once I arrived there was almost no waIt to see the doctor. I think he is the best.
Visited the Bedford office on Wednesday. Dr. Parnes and the staff couldn't have been nicer. I was very pleased with the care I received.
Dr Parnes is a excellent Doctor but the staff at Hagerstown are extremely inconsiderate. I hate going to this office.
Low key, competent, complete.
I lost the vision in my eye on a Saturday evening. I called Dr. Parnes and he met me in his office on a Sunday. He was concerned, informative and knowledgeable. I had to have surgery and was well taken care of I can't recommend Dr. Parnes and his associate enough. Yes you may have to wait in the waiting room, if you have really good doctors they are going to be busy because you want a really good doctor taking care of your eyes. Office staff may be a little rough around the edges but is that the important thing? Or is having a great doctor treat your eyes? I have had more problems and even consulted doctors at Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins and came back to Dr. Parnes office to have things explained to me have his opinion which made me feel so much better. He is very caring and recommend him to anyone.
Not fair to rate Dr. Parnes lower because he personally is very knowledgeable - it is his staff that leaves much to be desired and so lowers the overall experience. He does not take time to explain things unless you know in advance what to ask though. Research your condition before you get there so you can ask more questions. All three of my visits there was standing room only in main waiting area (Frederick office) and staff ignores the problem and will not let you wait in your car even with disabilities. The tech/nurses make you do the same eye tests every time you come in, as if you have not been there for a year - and regardless of how much pain or damage has been done to your eye. It gets old (and painful) after three visits in a couple of weeks. Then they take you to a second "TV waiting area" after having dilating drops put in; that one has even fewer seats - like 5 seats and some old office equipment they seem to be storing for something. Many patients bring multiple family members or caregivers and none are asked to give up seats to patients or wait in the main area, meaning even less space in this second room. (So make sure your spouse is skinny so they can sit on your lap). The nurses clearly see the situation and quickly usher you into the room and leave you to fend for yourself. Dr. Parnes does make it clear what symptoms you should be concerned about and how serious they may be if left untreated, and also suggests you call him immediately if these symptoms occur. But... do yourself a favor and don't get any of those symptoms because when you call, his staff will probably refer you to other doctors you have not heard of and not explain why. And don't ask why either. Just don't. They don't like it. Plus, they won't tell you anyway. He seems to be pawning you off on to other doctors to do his dirty work. If he can do a surgery or something exciting then he is your guy, but follow ups are clearly not his specialty.
I have diabetes and was scared to death of being blind. Dr . Parnes was very thorough explained the diabetic eye disease to me. He had to operate on my eyes and I can now see. I am very thankful. His staff is wonderful and caring.
I have macular degeneration in both eyes, which has resulted in my being legally blind. All along, he has helped us understand the diagnosis and possible progression of the disease. I am very pleased with the way the treatments have stabilized my vision for the time being.
very arrogant

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
