THIS PLACE IS AMAZING...DR. SIVA IS AN AMAZING PERSON AND DOCTOR... HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE VETERANS HOSPITAL SERVICE.. CHANGED TO DR. PREMA SIVA..ALL STAFF ARE VERY KIND AND PLEASANT

I was very sick at 2014 and at that time was dr Susan Madonna ‘s patient for a long time. But she had to go other facility. She is a great experienced doctor. Then dr Siva came and I started to see her. First she didn’t read my history and told that I had nothing seriously then one day I was so sick and ran to the office and try let her give an look but she turned around told nurse to call police. After that I will never see her again. The reason I went there is I felt very sick on my chest and ran to er many times. But as a family doctor she can’t treat a patient like this. Yes I suffer a nerve fiber tumor between my lung and heart. It is a very rare disease eventually identified by dr. Marshall Blair of goorgetown university gave a throcic surgery and successfully rmovered tumor I want to every body who want to see her. Don’t see her. Worst doctor in the world. Terrible

I have never given a bad review of a doctor or a doctors office, but this place started out wonderful clean, nice people who smile and say hello. Then things took a turn when the doctor found out I had a Panic Disorder major anxiety and was on medicaid due ti the loss of my job. From that point the Doctor Prima Siva focused in on why i was on Alpazolam, she wouldn t look me in the eye when i was speaking about my disorder. I dont even think she was listening, I came there for a physical she does some o f the necessary tests. Told me to follow up or she would call to discuss, I heard nothing weeks later i get the results in the mail, I wanted to pay close attention to my trigliceride level because it has been high for years, well its over 500 and she didnt even call me to discuss the problem. ,,,, I mean this is no joking matter i have family history f Heart disease and Cholesterol. I need a new doc in the Laurel area ASAP. I now see the psychiatrist for mental Health and she is wonderful, Innovative Therapeautic in Laurel is a great place . They are friendly and most of all they treat you with respect. They are timely and have a great staff to handle all kinds of diagnosis.

Today 6/12/15 will most likely be my last time seeing Dr. Siva. I honestly think, she is trying to kill me (in terms of lack of knowledge). Few years ago, when I went to her complaining about my stomach pain she wrote me a script and said it was "most likely" ulcers. Didn't run any test. Super thankful, I have a PPO insurance because I went behind her and found a Gastro doctor. One week later, scheduled to have my Gallbladder removed as I had stones. Problem two, when I explain a problem I have, she is quick to grab the medical book. I'm OK with referring to a book here and there for small things but every visit? I kept thinking I was dealing with someone during her Internship, I actually even asked and they said no. My lab results came in weeks ago, and she never called me. Second doctor reads them and points out some concern, meanwhile she said I was fine. So falling asleep in the middle of the day and while driving is OK? When I explained the issue she then said "Maybe you need to see a Neuro doctor". She didn't even try to order any other test before I go to see them. So once again, I'll get that doctor asking me the same question about "Your primary care doctor didn't run some test first to rule out issues?" Have no idea about the other doctors here, and the practice was under Susan Madonna, but never saw her before either so not sure? Totally over her after today. If I have to keep diagnosing myself then I might as well fix myself too!

Dr. Prima Siva spoke very rude to me even spoke with a high pitch tone to me. She should be encouraged to take some training on how to speak to her patients, and keep her composure. Show some compassion with a person coming to you for help. She didn't seem to care about my condition of anxiety and high blood pressure, maybe she is not familiar with anxiety attacks and high blood pressure which is associated with anxiety. She also claimed she had no record of me being their before with high blood pressure, which in fact, I specifically was their before solely for my blood pressure. I have never experience such an ordeal with a doctor in my life. Needless to say, I will never go back to this doctor again. When I left this practice, I was speechless. Very disappointed in her has a professional doctor.

Dr. is very nice to me, She understands me, and seems to know me very well.

This Dr. saved my life. No, I'm not exaggerating and no, this review isn't being paid for. I actually came across this site while looking for my old Dr (Dr. Siva) because I miss her terribly, and the new Dr. I have had, for the last few yrs just isn't cutting it lately. This is going to be a long story,so I apologize; but I feel it should be shared. Back when I was 22 (about 5 yrs ago) I was really, very sick. It literally happened overnight. I had my dad (who also had her as a Dr. for a period in time & also speaks incredibly highly of her!) call my doctor's office, of course they were booked (and when this place is booked, it's booked there is no "shuffling around". I was incredibly sick (probably should have gone to the e.r but I honestly, don't like hospitals, & at the time had a big fear of them.) Anyway, my dad (because I was so sick I could barley speak) tried talking to the lady & getting me an appointment. He tried, begging, and pleading with the woman. She said there was nothing she could do. So my dad called back again and asked if he could speak to the Dr. at least (he figured maybe she could call something in based on my symptoms) incredibly Dr. Siva called my dad back within a 1/2 hr (on her lunch break) my dad explained what was going on. This woman had been my Dr from the time I was 18-23, so she knew me pretty well. As soon as my Dad told her, "It's the sickest, I've seen her since she was born, including when she had mono at 13" Dr. Siva asked if I was personally complaining (might sound strange but like I said she knew me well.) my dad told her "Yea, actually she is, she asked me to call " the next word out of her mouth were "Victoria isn't much of a complainer at all, ok bring her in as soon as possible, don't worry about making an appointment, I'll take care of it, just come here before the end of the day." Cut to about an hr and a half later. I was sitting (barley, more like laying) in the waiting office. I got called in (I later found out that it was originally Dr. Siva's early day, & she should have left an hr before I arrived, but she stayed later.) Well, low and behold I had DOUBLE PNEUMONIA!!! One of the worst cases, see had ever seen. She quickly started getting paperwork ready for the hospital etc. Well, like I said, I had a major fear of hospitals (I was also just promoted to manager at my job & was working over 60 hrs a week at the time.) Looking back it was horrible, but I outright refused to go to the hospital. Dr. Siva was not happy, but knew it was expected. "Victoria, you have double pneumonia!, this is not just a bad case of the flu" "Both of your lungs are infected!" she exclaimed "In addition to that you normally run a really low-temp (the ONLY Dr. who EVER takes this major fact into consideration when I feel sick btw) normally your about a 97.3-97.6. Do you know what your temperature is now? 103.7! and you had Tylenol today!" After about 10 min of her trying to convince me, that I needed to go to the hospital and me still refusing, (which looking back I feel SO bad about) she finally asked me if I had her permission to talk to my Dad for a few min. A few min later after my Dad (who had been thoroughly angry with me for refusing to go to the hospital & was considering dragging me there against my will kicking& screaming with what little strength I had left) came back looking more like a really worried parent, instead of an angry one. Somehow they (really Dr. Siva) came up with a "game plan." Dr. Siva stated that she really just wanted me better, & that me kicking& screaming was probably going to make my illness worse. She agreed that I was allowed get better at home, but I literally had to promise & swear that I would follow every single one of her rules, or she would "look the other way" while my Dad brought me to the hospital. "Yes your 22, I know you are technically an adult but you don't realize how serious this is." Her rules were: I must stay in bed indefinitely (I didn't have to sleep, but I had to relax & rest at all times) I was literally only allowed up to go to the bathroom. I had to take ALL of my medication & NEVER miss even a single dose and at the same times each day. I had to drink lots of juice/gatorade & water (I wasn't hungry at ALL during this time.) I had to promise at least 6-8 cups a day, even if I didn't feel like it. I also wasn't allowed to go to work for a few weeks, at the very least (she called my job & wrote me a note for work) & I wasn't allowed to answer any work related phone calls for the first 2 weeks (I had a 24 on- call manager job at a group home for disabled adults, If I wasn't there working 60hrs a week, I was constantly getting flooded w/ phone calls from staff members ranging from "So and So refuses to put any clothes on & wants to walk out of the house naked, he said he hates us all & will only talk to you" to actual emergency situations that I had to handle , my phone actually rang twice while in her office.) She also called my house to check up on me quite a few times (which she said she would be doing) to make sure I was still resting in bed & that I wasn't taking work related phone calls and stressing my body out. She also made a joke for my Dad to hide my car keys (which he actually ended up doing, after the 3rd night when he caught me trying to "sneak" out so I could run out to my office at work. I felt like I was 16 again, but because of her genuinely caring about me, I actually made a full recovery a little over a month after. She was the only Dr. who would find ways to work with me, rather then against me. Who would actually listen to me & take my fears or wants/needs into consideration. I actually respected that she was "one step ahead of me" because honestly, if i had been left up to my own devices I would have probably "forgotten' to take my antibiotics most of the time, & would have ended up going to work at all hrs in the dead of winter and I really would have run my body down so much (if even possible at the time,it was scary how sick I was) and there is no doubt in my mind (or my fathers) that I most likely would have ended up dead. Now I didn't spend 35 min on a Fri night, raving about this Dr for any benefit other then to give credit, where credit is due & share my story about who I personally think is one incredible Dr. I wish she would come back to N.Y like yesterday (so does my Dad) because my health and I could really use my favorite Dr. again. However, I am happy I got to be a patient of hers & in this day in age when I'm convinced most doctors, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies etc are all the same and are all just money hungry succubus's who genuinely don't care about you & would rather see you sick because they would get more money...this Dr. is the one thing that reminds me that there are still good people in this world. In fact, she's one of the people who inspired me to respect and help people as well & I am currently about to embark on my journey into nursing school, because I want to save a life & make a difference in someone's health and well being.

Dr Siva doesn't care about being a good doctor. She has rude unprofessional nurses. She doesn't require you complete any paperwork regarding your history or illnesses, just asks you a few questions in the exam which she doesn't really listen to what you say anyway. It is common practice and routine for her to not give script refils instead making excuses about why you need to come back for follow up visits and tests you don't need. She obviously cares about money and not patient care. She does things in her exam I have NEVER had done in my life and are pointless so she can bill the insurance more. When it comes to actual complaints she isn't interested.

I had an excellent physical with Dr. Siva about 45 days ago. At the time, we discussed a maintenance prescription I had. She indicated I should contact her office for a refill when it expired and I went on my way. Two weeks later, I was somewhat suprised when I saw an insurance record of the bill for the visit...cost my insurance company about double what a physical typically seems to cost. Fast forward two months later, my prescription has expired. As it turns out, the week before Christmas. The pharmacy contacted her office 3 times and she declined the refill and indicated she wants another appointment with me. (the drug I have been taking is a maintenance drug...doctors typically want to see me every 6 months to a year..no doctor has ever needed to see me monthly). Then she went out of town for the Holidays. The doctor on call is not returning my calls. So I am left to go to the emergency room/urgent care two days before Christmas for a simple prescription -- a visit that will cost my insurance company hundreds of dollars and interupt my holiday. This seems to me to be a pretty good example of why our health care system is going bankrupt. I'm going to try and be a responsible citizen and direct my health care dollars elsewhere.
