This doctor came in the room, didn’t even shut the door for privacy, and just stood there for one minute talking to us and looking at us like we were dumb. He is very condescending and has no bedside manner at all. A doctor should never act that way or make their patients feel bad walking out of there. It sucked.
Total hatchet man. Don’t waste your time or money with this so call Doctor.
I felt totally dismissed by Dr. Bauk and his lack of compassion is disturbing. I have have heard he is an excellent surgeon, but he will never operate on me, nor will I see him again. He told me incorrect facts about what I should'nt be doing. My son is a Dr and I have other resources thank goodness to have questions answered. He should retire, or read up on what is current in his field.
I agree with the last reviewer . He should retire from Medicine. I felt as though he was enjoying telling me all the activities I could no longer do after surgery. He has no compassion. I had to pull information from him and also told me incorrect information about activities to avoid. He may be an excellent surgeon, but I would never have him do the surgery, he has no respect for his patients. Find another Dr.
I saw dr. Bauk for a broken ankle. Unfortunately at the hospital they wrapped it in cotton, which I had a huge reaction to. Although I needed a hard cast we opted for the boot because in a hard cast I’d literally be in hell if I had a reaction. Insurance didn’t cover the boot so I had to pay out of pocket. Prob could’ve gotten it cheaper but he didn’t want me to leave with nothing. All in all he did well for me!
Careful if requesting medical records for a second opinion via healthmark - what you receive will NOT include xrays!!! There is no way to contact a person at this office re: medical records - the recorded message directs you to submit an electronic request. Here's a work-around: when you get the office recording, make a selection as if you want to make an appointment. You better believe you'll get a human! Use your most nonfrustrated voice (very difficult to find that voice after listening to various recordings for two hours) to request that xrays be available for you to pick up at the office and you'll get service.
This doctor should retire. He clearly looks at patients with derision. I felt at all times during my appointment that he had actual disdain towards me. In the end, he doesn’t do the type of surgery I may need so I was dismissed. He made me feel I had no issues , nor that I should be in the type of pain I’m in. I have had this happen on my other hip ( eventually needed replacement) however he couldn’t be bothered. It’s a shame as I have seen other surgeons in this proactive and was treated wonderfully. The staff seems indifferent as well. Run to another doctor!
Was told he has bad bedside manner, but he was a good surgeon so I went to him anyways for my surgery at only 16 years old, tore my lateral meniscus. He did a botched job and I ended up having to go to another surgeon and have more surgery on the same knee. (This was over 5 years ago)
Find another surgeon!! Went to see him for a torn meniscus and after looking at the MRI, he basically dismissed me and told me there was nothing he could do. I went to another Surgeon and they couldn’t believe he did that - they actually questioned if he looked at the MRI. I ended up needing a microfracture surgery because the tear was so bad. I’m great now and out of pain but I will never forget the horrible treatment I got from this guy (I won’t give him the credit of using the Dr title because he doesn’t serve it). Read the other reviews on here as well, before you select him. He’s a disgrace to the medical community. He also is a part owner of Center for Advanced Orthopedics PT so beware of being sent there for “treatment”.
Dr Bauk replaced both my knees and my hip, highly recommend him!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
