List of Joyce Wysette Neal's Reviews
Horrible experience. Front desk is nice , she is rude and dismissive and didn’t listen to anything I asked about and told me it was all normal. Then tried to push birth control when I told her my husband had a vasectomy. Also went for a second opinion. Found out I actually needed a hysterectomy.
Had better care from military ob's on base.. my visit with Dr Neal felt like an interrogation! She harped on me for not wearing an n95 mask everytime I leave the house and for not using sunscreen in December. She wanted details of why I have ptsd, and when I said it was a personal trauma, she still kept digging for details. She spent so much time criticizing me that I couldn't even voice my concerns. This is my 4th child, and I don't need coddling, but she was rude and condensending to me the entire visit. Also, the chair in the waiting room had dry pee in it, so once I sat down I smelled it and moved but the stench was already stuck on my pants!! The only plus side is that the staff was VERY nice... other than the most important person.... the DOCTOR. I won't return. 1 outta 10.
Dr. Neal and her staff work so hard and are an excellent team. Dr. Neal is straight to the point and beyond knowledgeable in everything she does. She is the only doctor on staff and will make sure SHE is there for your child birth or any emergency. I don’t know how to keeps up with it all, but her dedication and commitment is beyond admirable. Angie at the front desk is the nicest and most genuine person. I would give 10 stars if I could. Thank you all!
******Neal is HORRIBLE! She is emotionless with her work. I never felt as if my questions were answered, if anything she'd make me feel foolish for asking anything & that I wasting her time. When I'd go to appointments I'd be shaking, nervous, stressed, and uncomfortable. After seeing her a few times I then refused to visit a OBGYN for a pretty long time. Finally I went somewhere new and the experience is SO MUCH BETTER. Do not settle for this OBGYN. If you like the location of this one; there is one not too far from this office that is WAY BETTER. ****************
i’m not one to leave reviews, but i thought this place was going to be better. my mother went here for every appointment and dr.neal even gave birth to me. i had gone in being 18 having my first child i was 7 weeks and 4 days i had a miscarriage and was not prepared. the day i had found out she was rude i was sitting in the room waiting and she just walked in told me,“there’s no heartbeat it’s a miscarriage” and walked out. that’s no way to tell someone. the woman at the front desk was so caring though she cared more than the doctor. everything and every way that she said things to me was short and was pretty rude. i’m changing my doctors because i am still having problems and i was told everything was over and it has been over a month since i have had my miscarriage it should only last a few weeks. i hate to say it but i don’t recommend going here
Dr. Neal will unnecessarily require you to come in once a year and will hold your birth control hostage. Be prepared to call in regularly to get your prescription and schedule visits months in advance to get it.
Im not someone who would make a negative review about a place like this but my experience was not it. Went to get my iud inserted,Dr.Neal had no sympathy for the pain I was going through at all,I can tolerate pain and that’s not an issue however if a Dr knows that a patient is going to get a painful procedure done,I would believe she’ll be more understanding, doesn’t not cheer you on,very much heartless which is insane coming from a female Dr. Throughout my iud insertion I slightly moved ONCE and she started talking to me with an whole attitude, seemed bothered that I was in pain….Scared to even make noise at that point very frustrating. Had my red flags the first time I went,by the way she talked to me but still went and got my iud. Never again. Staff there is wonderful very friendly however the Dr.Neal the complete opposite. Why get a job like this when your always in such a bad mood, and just heartless towards your patients.
Wonderful staff from check-in, to first nurse in the room, and then Dr.Neal herself. Definitely sticking with her and recommend her to anyone looking for a warm and considerate physician. Not too many like her still in the business.
Had my son with Dr Neal. Can't say enough good things about my birth experiebce. I am still with her with my current pregnancy. Facility is always clean and tidy. Staff is always friendly, respectful, and professional. Highly recommend Dr Neal.
This is my first pregnancy and I am now on my third provider for OB care. I had to travel to Alexandria to get the quality of care I was looking for. This practice doesn’t even have an ultrasound machine. All my appointments consisted of were the use of Doppler and measuring my cervix. I do this at home. Further, I expressed that I did not want to receive the Covid vaccine. My Calvert OB recommended I did not, and Dr. Neal CHASTISED ME vehemently to get it. Questioning my reasoning, using scare tactics to sway my opinion, and generally making me feel HORRIBLE. Even insinuating that my baby would die... mind you, I had just gotten my anatomy scans and would have rather spoken about the reality of my baby’s health. She didn’t mention anything about my scans. I had to ask in the hallway if my baby was looking okay. I stood my ground after a LENGTHY chastising from her that I DID NOT ASK FOR. I left there crying all the way home. I’ll go out of my way to recommend people DONT go to see Dr. Neal.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
