This is for my wife and there will be more to come. We wanted to wait 6 months to let things go…. But feelings have not settled so will not wait any longer.Dr. Magat, was kind in our visits in the office but couldn’t believe the individual he was during the birthing process at the hospital. Long story short, Dr. Magat was more concerned about his Friday night and checked my wife vigorously within 20 minute periods in an hour span of being 9-9.5cm dilated. Dr. Magat being very unpatient, then caused “swelling of the vaginal walls” which caused the baby to become very distressed. Having no choice, the baby should have came naturally instead, she came with a c section. The nurses at GBMC didn’t agree with the way Dr. Magat handled our birth of our daughter and felt horribly for us because of the way he handles/handled things with child birth. Our doula also agreed but being respectful, she didn’t overstep but did what she could.Do not use Dr. Magat, it will not go to plan.

Our doula also agreed but being respectful, she didn’t overstep but did what she could. We also found out that day that there was 3 other patients that were in labor. All 3 went into the OR with “infection/swelling of the vaginal walls” just like my wife did… it is very obvious what his objective is. Yes, the baby came out healthy but doesn’t amount to the distress and ptsd my wife has with the day and the carelessness also made by Dr. Magat prescribing her medicine for her infection/swelling (which she is allergic to) which caused her to break out in full body hives for the first 2 weeks of post child birth. Luckily since birth back in May, we were able to switch doctors immediately and we are very thankful when we decide to have our next. I hope to anybody who reads this, that if you plan on having a natural birth, do not use Dr. Magat because his Caesarean rate is very high. We are positing this because we don’t want couples making the same mistake we did choosing this selfish doctor. He does not care about his patients and only wants to do things the quick and most convenient way to get him out of the hospital. To Dr. Magat, we hope you do read this and I hope as a medical professional you do not keep on ruining the lives of women during the labor process. I cannot imagine how many women/families have lost sleep knowing you have taken advantage of them like you did with my wife. Doing things maliciously and intent to make things convenient for yourself. Please feel free to anybody who reads this to reach out to me for more of the horrible things that happened that are too personal for this post. We are horrified that he is a medical professional.

Best doctor and staff I have ever came in contact with
Maybe a good doctor for routine check-ups but, I was very disappointed in Dr. Maggot, I had my very first surgery that was potentially life threatening if I let the issue linger and initially before the procedure he was very welcoming and reassuring but, post-op was a different story entirely. It was as if, after the surgery was done he was no longer willing to listen to my complaints of pain and worries of going back to work. He told me with a smile that I could be doing work lifting heavy boxes and he would still not extend my leave for even a few days. When I asked if the pain persisted what I should do; he stated that if the pain persists then it is not caused by the surgery, knowing well that I do not have a previous medical condition that would infer that. I would be very hesitant with doing any major procedures with this doctor, I read more reviews on other platforms of his one sided care and only wished I had seen them sooner.

This doctor made me feel very uncomfortable. He seems like a perv.
Dr. Magat ruined my pregnancy. He misdiagnosed me and dismissed all my claims telling me they were normal. BP Through the roof (200/119) my entire pregnancy and swelling and proteins in my urine would indicate preeclampsia. However, he said it was all normal pregnancy symptoms in the heat. I got a second opinion and found out I had severe eclampsia and my baby was suffering from IUGR. she was delivered preematire a few days later after a crash cesarean was needed. All of which could have been prevented had he actually listened to my claims and stopped dismissing my symptoms. And telling me I was being “dramatic.” He also took the time to make harsh comments about my weight gain … another eclampsia symptom that he dismissed. I gained 22lbs in 2 weeks. Well my symptoms caused my baby to be delivered 75 days early. And resuscitated in front of me then transported to the NICU for an extended stay where she fought just to live. I would never recommend this person to anyone.
Dr. Magat was my doctor for almost 20 years and I never had a problem. When a problem occurred, everything changed. The staff were disrespectful and I was shocked how the doctor did not care about my concerns. He is good when there is no problem, but he is not the right person to handle a problem if it occurs. He does not care or listen to the patient's concerns and does not care enough to keep the patient in his practice. Would never recommend this doctor to anyone!!
Dr. Magat and his staff ruined the first half of my pregnancy. I suffered with Hyperemesis Gravidarium and was so sick I could not get out of bed. Dr. Magat made me feel like I was crazy and dramatic. His staff were rude and laughed at me while I was vomiting in his office during one of my apts. They were "grossed" out and didn't offer to help me because "they might vomit too". Dr. Magat made getting treatment for my condition so difficult that I questioned my decision to have a baby all together. Dr. Magat frequently made thoughtless, unfounded, and unprofessional statements about my condition. He refused to provide basic care for adequate hydration and nutrition. Under his care I lost over 25lbs - I was not well enough to seek out another OB until 20weeks and once I switched doctors I never looked back. I am happy to report under the care of another OB my condition became manageable & I gave birth to a happy and healthy baby girl. Save yourself the heartache, find a different doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
