Dr. C. Francisco Espinel recently operated on me to remove my gall bladder. He was extremely competent and professional, and equally kind and caring. My surgery seems to have gone well and it was scheduled in a timely manner to help relive my pain and forestall any additional problems. At my follow up appointment, I felt Dr. Espinel truly listened to how I was feeling and offered concrete suggestions to help speed my recovery. I could tell that he cared about me as a patient and as a person. Really grateful that Dr. Espinel and his team were there to take care of me in a scary situation. I truly felt I was in good hands with him and the entire surgical team at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center.

Dr. Espinel performed my emergency gallbladder surgery five days ago, and it's the most amazing thing Ive ever seen. Already, I'm out and about, driving and running errands. He must be an extremely proficient surgeon to have achieved this result, and I'm pain-free without medication. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Each time i have been admitted to the hospital for my diagnosis he has been the assigned surgeon. Ive only seen him once for a about a minute literally, which was my first admission. The other three times I saw and spoke with residents. My most recent admission he was on the floor i was on saw a patient and never stopped by my room. Its hard to respect physicians who dont even take the time to speak with you in regards to the treatment plan. The residents were awesome however they have to consult with Dr. Espinel for the final say. When dealing with peoples lives i feel as though it is an ethical obligation to the physicians to communicate with patients. Extremely disappointed and God forbid i have to return I will be sure that he is not the one who I am assigned to.
