Luther Lorenzo Ampey's Online Review Report Card

I am so very glad that I chose this practice for my radiation care. I urge you to do the same if you want excellent care and a high level of confidence in the design and execution of your radiation treatment! Dr. Ampey is extremely knowledgable in the span of cancer care; from surgery, chemotherapy and of course the highest level of expertise and board certification in radiation. He is compassionate and was able to help me better understand the need for radiation and its role/benefits in helping to prevent reoccurrence of cancer. He reviewed my post-op notes with me to clarify a point of care related to my lymph nodes. He is a good listener, WELCOMED my questions, and was able to answer all of them thoroughly. His office provided me with a personalized book that described the basics, terminology and expectations of radiation treatment as part of the orientation/consult. He has a team of dedicated CARING staff who are KIND, compassionate, supportive, OUTSTANDING professionals with a high degree of technical skills. Radiation staff and nurses checked in with me daily to ensure I was OK physically and emotionally and not encountering any difficulties. I felt confident that the radiation machines were calibrated regularly and there are routine checks and balances in place. If you are a discerning patient like me, who only wants the best for themselves, please select this practice.

I find Dr. Ampey to be extremely compassionate, caring and understanding. I never feel rushed - he takes a great deal of time answering my questions and helping me understand all that my body is going through. He is very reassuring and kind.

While it is all about getting the cancer cured, this staff from top to bottom NEVER EVER FORGETS it is a person that has the cancer. They make you forget you have cancer. knowledgeable, accommodating and personable. It is all about the patient. Certainly not glad about having cancer but if there is an office to go through it with it is the office.

Dr. Ampey is a wonderful doctor and I feel very fortunate to have found him. He treats you like a person not a number and talks to you as an intelligent person. He explains everything to you and answers all your questions. I never felt rushed. His office is run in a very efficient manner too. I am greeted with a friendly 'hello, how are you,' and feel very welcomed. The doctor and his team are very skilled and knowledgeable. I never have to wait either. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ampey if you ever need radiation!

at first it seemed to me Dr. Ampey was too arrganot and a litle be too cocky dealing with someone patient like such as my mother that is a very very bad case of colon cancer and i'm her daughter that has been suffering with her for over a yr and a half and any rudeness cockiness from a dr when he walks into the room makes u feel uneasy and the dr has no emotions is your reaction thats how it was from visit one then everything got straighten up i spoke out to him and now he has even helped my mom the most than any drs over a span of almost yrs so i am so grateful i got to meet this dr and still going to him for radiation for my mother so first impression dont always last he could just been having a day at that moment as it is we are all human even doctors. i respect and reccomend dr ampey sooo much with high regards, from a person that has dealth with over a dozen of drs he has been on the top of the list!!!! thank you so much Dr. Ampey!

If you ever find yourself in the position of needing radiation, I highly recommend Dr. Ampey. You could not have a more patient-oriented doctor.

After having visited other Radiation Oncologists (including Johns Hopkins), I found Dr. Ampey to be patient and considerate and more worried about me as a patient than about me as a statistic (take note: JHU!). I was never rushed and he thoroughly explained everything to me, recognizing that I was intelligent and not trying to talk down to me. He instilled great confidence in me, which was the overwhelming factor in selecting him to perform my Brachytherapy procedure.
