I had a wonderful time here I have everything I need to take with me and my new life without the use of drugs
My son is a resident at Avenues Recovery Center, formerly known as Carol M. Porto Recovery Center. From our very first interaction with the staff when I called to get help for my son, we have been treated with respect and dignity. This facility is very clean. The staff is friendly, professional and always willing to lend an ear. There is counseling which is taken very seriously. They have daily classes about recovery, mindfulness, self-esteem, taking control of your life, etc. Also, there is a gym for those wanting to work out. The success rate is very high in this facility. Recovery must be taken seriously otherwise it doesn't matter where you are, it's not going to work. Good luck to all who enter their doors.
I had a great experience with my stay there. I stayed there for 3 months and they helped me so much!! I went in lost, miserable & hopeless and when I left I’m happy, have a great start to my recovery and full of hope!! My counselors were amazing, Ms. Cathy helped me break the ice & Ms. Dawn thawed my ice barriers. All the work her and I did together means the world to me because I know she saved my life with everything she helped me work through!! I learned so much in all the groups I went to throughout the day. I learned about my addiction, triggers, coping skills & relapse prevention & so much more!!! All the staff was great. They were very welcoming when I first got there & very helpful & supportive throughout my stay there. I would definitely recommend Carol Porto (Avenues) treatment center to my family, friends, and everyone that needs help with addiction!!!
I have a story to tell..I am a mother of an addict.I had gone through a lot before Avenues recovery saved my daughters life, and my life. I had put my daughter in one rehab home. She checked herself out in two days. She went back on the streets. I finally got her again, put her on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She had gotten kicked out in the middle of the night. Left to be on the streets. I was desperate I was so scared for her. I immediately sent her to her brothers to get her out of Southern Maryland, because I knew she would not survive. Desperate I finally came across, at the time was named Carol Porto, but was owned by Avenues. I explained all I had been through. Without hesitation they went to all lengths to help me get my daughter enrolled. I will not use last names, but there were two gentlemen that helped me keep her secure and safe, and helped her recovery. The first gentlemen was Mr.Harvey. He told me he wouldn't let her go, and I could sleep for the first night in a long time, and not to worry, he said please go home and sleep. And for the first time, in a long time I did. My daughter remained, made it through, became sober and survived. The second person, who still to this day, checks to make sure my daughter is safe and clean, and sober is Josh. Because of Mr. Harvey, and Josh, and the entire staff my daughter has survived the evils of heroin. I can never thank them enough for saving my daughter's life, and myself. Through all of this, I am writing this, not as a review, but as a life experience, that I would not have survived if I didn't have the guidance, support, experience, and compassion. They not only have the strength to help with addiction, they truly care. All as I can say, they saved my daughter, and myself from a horrible ending, and tragedy. If you you need a place for help, privacy, and guidance, please give Avenues a place of refuge. Thank you Avenues for all you have given back to me as a mother, and for saving my daughter, and our family.Thank you.
I had a wonderful expierence while in treatment. I have been in 4 other facilities and did not get the information in those combined that I got here. That is because of the knowledgeable counselors & the way the info is delivered. Also the staff from the RC's to the Director genuinely cared about me in all aspects of my recovery. I would highly recommend this program a to change your life!!!!
As someone who had never done a rehab program and was very unsure of what they were walking into, Avenues was exactly what I needed. The clinical staff is awesome and you can tell that they really have a heart for the patients at the center. Many are in recovery themselves and can share in empathy with what your going through, which for me enabled me to really open up and get things out. Like most things in life, this is what you make of it, but if your motivated to turn your life around the staff will respond in kind to make that happen. The facility itself was under construction while I was there, so you were working around the mess, but from what I've heard it will be gorgeous once its done later this year. I would definitely recommend this place if you're serious about getting well and you want a staff that knows how to guide you there. Special shout out to Ruthie for always being a smiling face when you need it.
Staff were very kind and accommodating. I loved my counselor Seamus. The yoga classes with Miss Ally was one of my favorite things to do. The alumni coordinator Rachel always has a smile on her face and tries to bring your spirits up. All around great place to find recovery if that's what you're seeking.
This place saved my life, staff is amazing at their jobs. Alot of support & the community was on point. Fasho all love we do recover you better bet it.
Literally never thought I’d give this place 5 stars.. but honestly it changed me for the better. Though this facility was lacking in many, many (many) ways… the actual group sessions and counselors are amazing. The program itself is great and although I’m fresh out, I feel different. Shoutout to Ms. Allie!
I had a great experience at Avenues. This was my first experience in an inpatient facility and I could not be happier. I was on the fence when I found out it was 60 days but am very grateful in the end. I do not feel 30 would have been enough. The councilors are amazing and really care about your long term recovery.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
