List of Julie Okeefe's Reviews
I've been seeing Dr. O'keefe for over a year now and have had a positive experience with her each visit. She is full of knowledge and takes her time with you so you don't feel rushed. Very friendly and professional. Office wait times can be a bit long but overall I'm happy to call her my endocrinologist.
Very rude and didn't even bother to thouroghly check if there was anything wrong with me. Told me to get surgery for my weight and didn't even care to try and give me other options like diet or exercise. Very displeased
Dr. O'Keefe is amazing. I'm an adult diagnosed T1D and Dr. O'Keefe really takes time to make sure I understand every step of my care. She makes herself available whenever needed and has the patient's health top priority. I would totally recommend her.
Phenomenal doctor. She has helped my father understand his diabetes and helped him control it. We cannot be more grateful.
Dr. O'Keefe has been my endocrinologist for more than 18 years. She is fantastic! As she also has personal experience as a type 1 diabetic, she definitely relates and understands the tightrope most diabetics walk. She is thorough and does not hesitate to spend time talking to and listening to her patients.
Referred to her by my gyn personnel staff. She is the best!
I am a newly diagnosed diabetic with LADA. I was referred to Dr. O'keefe by my primary physician and I was so nervous but she definitely eased my mind about my diagnosis. She is very caring and made sure that she answered all of my questions. The front desk staff, however, had quite an attitude when my mother asked why it was taking so long for me to be seen. There were at least 8 patients who came after me who were called back before me so we were quite annoyed, especially because I was told to fast for blood labs. Definitely will be sticking with her even with the poor staff.
Dr. OKeefe has treated me for over 5 years now - she advised me to have my left thyroid removed due to a nodule that was larger than she was comfortable with. She aspirated the thyroid before hand for biopsy which was negative. She keeps me on track and is really easy to talk with.
I have heard she is very good. I've tried to get appt.s with her. I have diabetes and have had it for 4 + years. My reg. doctor is good but she is not an expert on diabetes and has only gone by the A1C number which in my opinion is completely worthless. It does not indicate how high your sugar spikes are or how many you have had, so you can have higher than normal sugar pikes over a long period of time doing much damage and your doctor may still say your A1C is normal. My eyes are very bad now because of this. My complaint is that when I tried to get an appt with Dr. Okeefe, I was told that I couldn't because she was in the same office as my MD. ??? Then just recently I checked again, and Okeefe hasn't been taking new patients for a while now.......like the few 'good' doctors they have at Calvert, they have been booked for years. This is pretty bad, so many have diabetes today and there is only 'one' specialist who has been booked for years? It's extremely bad policy and not fair at all to people if they cannot choose what doctor they want to see.........BAD Policy!!! Things are bad enough these days without doctor's offices make it harder. so my complain is not about Dr. Okeefe but that I could not make an appt. with her. I need a specialist, i'm tired of having to travel to Annapolis, Baltimore, or other counties or cities to get medical help!!!
Most rude staff I have ever interacted with. I approached the appointment windows and their staff grunted "WHAT…?" Pretty blown away by that first communication. Second, I missed an appointment because I was sick and they dropped me and said they didn't want me to come back and to find another endo. This place needs an attitude revamp and more staff to deal with their medical offering. I will write a letter to their hospital director informing of how their internal medicine department has gone to crude and how they they are treating their patients. Absolutely unprofessional. Don't come here if you don't want to be stressed out that you may do something wrong and they just kick you out! Never in my life have I ever seen anything like this place before. AWEFUL!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
