List of Anitha S Nair's Reviews
Dr Nair was assigned to me by Shady Grover Fertility and she oversaw two egg freeze cycles. I wanted to switch doctors after the first cycle already because I had such a bad experience with her but hoped that she would learn from the many things that went wrong the first time to make the second round better. The second round was a complete disaster and I almost aborted the entire process after a failed egg retrieval. She made mistakes with the medication dosage, made me go on for 19 painful days of injections, made me do two egg retrieval attempts and eventually caused hyper-stimulation, which took me weeks to recover from. I was not only appalled by the lack of expertise, but also pure lack of patience and empathy. In every phone call, I felt like nothing but a source of revenue rather than a woman trying to address a sensitive subject. Highly recommend avoiding this doctor. The other doctors I met during my check-ups and procedures were all more patient and empathic than her.
Dr. Nair is a compassionate and competent provider. I was her patient for 3 years and underwent 2 IUIs and 3 rounds of IVF with 8 embryo transfers. Throughout the entire time Dr. Nair never gave up hope and continued to work with us to make our dreams of being parents come true. We are now in our second trimester of pregnancy and could not be more thankful for Dr. Nair.
Dr. Nair was incredibly compassionate and attentive to our needs. I feel so lucky to have found her and had her as my fertility doctor. She always listened to me and made time to answer my questions. I never felt rushed or pushed to make decisions and always felt heard. She personally called me on several occasions to discuss next steps. I especially appreciated her advice and support as we moved from IVF to donor egg IVF - it was something we had not explored and are so grateful for her sage and kind advice throughout the process. She is key part to our story!
Dr. Nair and her team helped us through one of the most difficult times in our lives and did so with so much patience, compassion, and hope for us. We are now expecting a baby this spring and could not have gotten to where we are now without Dr. Nair who was there for us every step of our very long journey. I would highly recommend Dr. Nair to anyone who is looking for someone to take care of them and their fertility needs.
Dr. Nair and the staff at Shady Grove were amazing. My husband and I felt heard at each and every appointment. No question was too small and the staff always had time to talk us through each step in our IVF journey. We cannot recommend Dr. Nair enough for fertility treatments. Her warmth and knowledge gave us so much comfort in what was a trying time. We are now pregnant with our first thanks to SGF and Dr. Nair. Thank you so much!
Dr. Nair was incredibly attentive, explaining every singe issue and responding to all my questions. She and hair nursing team were very supportive at every stage of the treatment and the whole process went very smoothly.
Dr Anitha Nair had a very pleasant and calming effect on me. Going through the IVF process is never easy and dealing with multiple members from nurses to scheduling coordinators, from clinic floor staff to pharmacy, it's really very exhaustive. In most cases you are treated as a yet another patient, But with Dr Nair it was always a very much 1:1, precise and super professional and friendly interaction. Thank you Dr. Nair for everything you do for parents and their hope to motherhood
Lacks bedside manner. Explains things too quickly, and when we would ask questions or ask her to repeat things she became impatient and frustrated. We didn't feel respected as patients or like she listened to our concerns. I think she's become too busy as of recent and no longer has time to provide adequate care and attention to her patients. Ended up switching to a different doctor, whom we were ...
I used Shady Grove and Dr. Nair for fertility testing 3 years ago and currently for a successful IUI. The entirety of my IUI process was done during COVID. I was very pleased by the safety and cleanliness and professionalism of the K Street and Rockville facilities. I was treated at both. Dr. Nair is a confident, to-the-point practitioner which made decision making easy and unemotional. Would recommend both Dr. Nair and Shady Grove.
Dr. Nair was referred to me by my doctor so I am very surprised/very disappointed to say my experience with her was bad. And I would not recommend her for 2 reasons: Over the course of the 4 weeks of treatment, she was completely hands off in that only nurses did sonograms etc, I received ZERO outreach from her - not even an email to check in. And then when I expressed this to her she said she didn't know I would need "hand holding." Of course! That's what a doctor is for...she was defensive and unprofessional. Additionally, now having TWO other doctors review my bloodwork 3 years AFTER I had my eggs frozen, they are shocked at how few eggs she was able to retrieve. So I paid top dollar for "Washington's Best" and got a bad result. And now not only can I not get 3 years back, but results should've been MUCH better and I could've had way more eggs from my cycle/extraction. Shop around! SG is an impersonal factory. I am so disappointed. This is too precious to have a subpar experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
