I met Dr Wagner 15 years ago. I experienced an eye problem and he told me to “come over right now! I’ll see you today 100%!” Years later I encountered a MAJOR problem. He told me to drive to Georgetown Hospital (Washington DC) and he would meet me there - it was 8:00am. Sure enough, it was a major problem. He walked me directory to the Surgery Center and got me scheduled as an “Add On” meaning unscheduled emergency surgery. By 6:30PM he sent me to “pre-op” and said “I’ll be back! Don’t go anywhere! (Terrific personality!). 8:00pm I am wheeled into the OR. 1:00AM & awake from procedure. A week later the bandage is off and I can see perfectly. I see Dr. Wagoner every 3-4 months now for checkups. He is the best of the best.
Dr. Wagner was extremely attentive to the issues I raised and made me feel at ease and not at all rushed. His knowledge and expertise are impressive. I will see him for my next checkup!
Just what you want and expect in a Dr.
Great doctor
I was very pleased to be referred to Dr. Wagner, a retinal specialist for my new experience of flashes and floaters in my left eye. He saw me promptly, diagnosed a retinal tear in my left eye and promptly did a laser treatment to seal the tear. I avoided a retinal detachment. Dr. Wagner told me if I had waited I would have required a surgery to repair the coming retinal detachment but with the laser treatment I would not need further surgery. He is pleasant and friendly and made me feel well cared for. I highly recommend him to patient's with retinal problems.
Dr. Wagner is a superb retinal specialist. He is treating me for my retinal issue. Know Dr. Wagner more than 8 years, he is a smart, kind, reassuring. Terrific doctor. Ling in Leesburg, VA
I am a regular patient of Dr. Wagner's for more than 25 years. I discovered at my mid 30s that I have a rare genetic disorder that can, among other areas, impact the eyes. He first suspected the condition at a routine appointment I made with him at Georgetown. I was later clinically diagnosed by NIH. He is an expert on many eye conditions and I know I am getting the absolute best preventative care to retain my eyesight. Dr Wagner is extremely thorough and genuinely cares about his patients.
Smart, kind, reassuring. Terrific doctor.
I was happy to be referred to Dr. Wagner for my macular degeneration. I have the 'dry' kind that does not need eye injections. I am now following the doctor's recommendations regarding diet and special pills I need to take twice a day. I am hopeful that I do not lose any more vision. Dr. Wagner is very friendly and helpful.
Dr. Wagner is the best doctor I've every been treated by. He is friendly and spends a lot of time with you. He seems genuinely interested in me - not just my eyes. I feel I am getting very good care in his hands.
I had a bunch of new stuff floating in my vision. I thought it was a hair or dust. I ignored it and two weeks later a cloud decended upon my vision. I saw my optometrist who told me I had a retinal detachment. Dr. Wagner saw me the same day and brought me to surgery that very night at Georgetown Hospital. I was very reassured by his manner and confidence. Now that the bubble has disolved I can see very well again. Don't ignore your painless floaties in your vision. You may be like me and have a hidden retinal detachment. Get it checked out right away.
Dr. Wagner is excellent. He has helped my husband tremendously. We are very happy and grateful to him. And, his bedside manner is the BEST. He is hilarious.
I have no idea how she got those good reviews. I was tricked by those review and went to see her. After a year of spending over $10,000 of visiting her...just VISITING her, just visiting her office for one test result after another which she asked me to. As a result, I still had no diagnosis but another test!! I ran out of my patience and visited another doctor. Guess what, I got all the tests that need to be done in one month, and just need to visit the new doctor twice then I got my diagnosis. After that, I haven't never been so regret of wasting so much time and money on Dr Wagner when I am trying so hard to get pregnant!! She has no staff. She only have one part-time front desk showed up sometime. And talk about the wait time!! Dear god, always about an hour!! For the whole year of experience of visiting her office, I am very suspicious about where those good reviews come from?? I cannot tell if they are all fake, but be wary if you decide to visit her.
I was frightened that I had a net floating in front of my right eye. I also saw flickering lights in the dark. My regular eye doctor thought I might have a retinal detachment and sent me the same day to Dr. Wagner. He saw me promptly and did an extremely thorough eye examination for me. He was thorough and explained everything. He found that I had a separation of the get in my eye from my retina. He called it a PVD. There was also some spots of blood on my retina but thanks be to god, there was no retinal detachment and no retinal tears. Dr. Wagner saw me one week later and then 6 weeks later. He always took his time with me. He made me feel that I was very important to him and he reassured me that he was available 24/7 if my symptoms worsened. I appreciate his time and thoroughness. He is wonderful
I am so glad that my mother recommended that I see Dr. Wagner. He took the time to explain my situation, and he showed me the computer images from the inside of my eye to let me see what was going on in my retina. He explained that my retina was swollen from my diabetes and that either laser or an injection inside of my eye would improve the vision and also the swelling. I was frightened to get an eye injection as I was sure it would be painful. Dr. Wagner told me I would only feel a small bit of pressure or a pinch and that the injection wouldn't hurt. He was right. I barely felt the injection. Now my eyesight is improved and I am no longer frightened about losing my vision nor getting a shot into my eye!
Dr. Wagner is a superb retinal specialist. He is treating me for age related macular degeneration and he is the only doctor I will let do injections in my eyes.
I was sent to Dr. Wagner for a retinal detachment. It was very scary as I lost all vision in my left eye. The referring ophthalmologist was once a student of Dr. Wagner's (He is a professor at Georgetown Hospital) and gave him an enthusiastic recommendation. Dr. Wagner brought me to surgery at Georgetown Hospital and put a bubble in my eye. I needed to sleep face down overnight and the next day I was able to be upright. I couldn't see while the bubble was in my eye, but I never had any pain after the surgery. When to bubble went away, I could begin to see again. Now I can see as well as before my retinal detachment occurred. I keep Dr. Wagner's card in my wallet to call if I every get similar symptoms in the future. I am very grateful to my own ophthalmologist for sending me promptly to Dr. Wagner for the successful treatment of my retinal detachment.
Dr. Wagner is wonderful. He gets 4+ stars in customer service. He always gives good suggestions on my eye treatments. Thank you, Dr. Wagner.
I wish all of my doctors were like Dr. Wagner. I was sent to him because he is the director of Retina at Georgetown University. I was told that I have a macular pucker that caused me to have eye discomfort by my optometrist. I came expecting that Dr. Wagner would suggest surgery to remove the ‘pucker’ on my eye. Instead he spent the time to explain what a macular pucker is, how I got it, and the risks and benefits of surgery. He explained that most puckers do not progress over time. He also explained that puckers do not hurt, and that my eye pain was from blepharitis, inflammation of my eyelid margins. He took 3-D photos and showed me my pucker was very mild and wasn’t affecting my vision. I didn’t need surgery and now I have a regimen to treat my eyelids daily. I’m very glad I saw him. I have complete confidence in his clinical skills.
I was referred to Dr. Wagner for a freckle in my retina. Dr. Wagner took a photograph of the freckle and reassured me that my likelyhood of developing a cancer in my eye was the same as my likelyhood of winning the state lottery. I am very reassured by his thorough care. I know that if my eye develops a tumor that he will notice it and work to save my eyesight and my life. I am no longer panicking that I may lose my eyesight.
