****BEWARE***** Quality-trained doctor, but the customer service has gone down the drain over the last year or so. I never receive calls back so that I can discuss my questions. He even (recently) advised me to leave to go to another practice, if his service was “not acceptable,” after being a patient for years. This is supposed to be a place where people go for care, sometimes in a vulnerable state. I do not feel like Dr. Cowen or anyone there actually cares about me/my health, or strives to resolve my concerns. I am treated like another item to bill and be done with. The practice does not appear to support continuity of care and communication between the patient and provider (e.g, asking questions outside of your appointment time). In other words, billed time. I was told not to expect that here. I have never been treated so poorly by a medical facility. If you want to actually be cared for with kindness, I recommend going somewhere else. I have to find another practice myself.

Overall good, professional, friendly service. Didn't make me wait long. His communication style could be improved. When I asked what something on my head was, he casually said "Oh, that's cancer" in the same manner that you would use in saying that we decaf instead of regular coffee.

I was referred to Dr. Cowen after several years of discomfort from persistent itching all over my body and several visits to several dermatologist and specialists. His analysis and determination to find a treatment that would give me some quality of life and although there doesn't seem to be a cure to date for my immune driven itch and condition it makes is a great improvement to many years of daily discomfort.

Dr. Cowan was persistent in his questioning until he arrived at the source of a nasty rash I’ve been experiencing. He’s not only an excellent dermatologist but also a very fine detective!
