List of Eye Center Inc's Reviews
I went to the Eye Cdnter re cataracts surgery. A friend suggested a second opinion from John's Hopkins Wilmer Eye Center. I went back to Dr Fu. I feel that Wilmer treated me like an assembly line saying "we do many of these." Well I don't and I had a lot of questions I did not get to ask. It was just rushed. The tech was very kind and answered questions, explained what she was doing and why. I saw the doc for a few minutes and the lady doing the scheduling had no interest in a conversation telling me - not asking - about appointments and times. Go to the eye center. See Dr Fu who will answer all questions, is patient and kind. I have a high degree of trust and feel Positive I will have a good outcome. Cataract surgery may be routine for the Docs but patients still deserve to be comfortable in the process.
I was very satisfied with my eye exam and recommendations provided by Dr. Allen. She is very thorough with her work and compassionate with the patients. She will address all your questions and concerns. I would have given a 5 star review if it was just for Dr. Allen's eye exam and prescription. However, I was disappointed with the optical store that is inside this location. Their prices are not competitive and on average you have to pay around $700 for progressive lenses after the insurance copay. I was able to get equally good frame and lenses for my progressive lenses for less than half the price from LensCrafters.
I've been going here for years for regular exams. This year I decided to do PRK with Dr Kwak. He is an amazing doctor, so patient, kind, knowledgeable and thorough. He went over the procedure in full detail. I had literally about 80 questions, and he answered them all. I never felt rushed. He personally did the procedure and all of my follow up appointments. My eyes are healthy and I can finally see 20/20 without glasses! I can't say enough wonderful things about this practice. From the scheduling with Fanny, down to the technicians and Dr. Kwak, I simply love this place. I wouldn't have any other practice care for my vision and eye health.
My glasses and my backup pair of glasses broke within a day of each other. I went to The Eye Center, Shady Grove Road, and Dr. Fu examined me and gave me a new prescription. I needed a new frame and lenses, plus new lenses in an old frame. I compared prices and Eyeland in Aspen Hill was a couple of hundred dollars less than the Eye Center. When my new glasses and lenses came there was a major problem. They were bifocals and the reading portion was unusable. I had to hold things a couple of inches from my face. Bob and Terry at Eyeland assured me that the lenses were made to my new prescription. Back to the Eye Center. I was reexamined--turns out Dr. Fu had written the wrong number on my prescription. He gave me a strength of +3 and it should have been +2. He gave me a new prescription. I told him that I'd just spent over a thousand dollars on new glasses using his wrong prescription. He told me I should try to work out something with the eyeglass place. He was very pleasant, but he did not apologize nor take responsibility for his mistake. Fortunately for me, Eyeland didn't take the same attitude. Even though the mistake was Dr. Fu's and not theirs, Eyeland covered me for two sets of new lenses which came very quickly. Thanks entirely to Eyeland, I had new glasses and backups with the the right prescription.
I ordered an eyeglass on 4/5 and was promised to receive it in two weeks. I didn't receive it at the promised time, and I made many calls. There was only a voice mail response, and no one ever responded to me. I need this glass for an important family event on May 8. I made another call in the week of 4/25; I pleaded with the clinical appointment line to ask the optical unit since the optical line was always put me in voice mail, and they never responded to the message left. One staff finally answered me and told me that the frame was delayed, but he promised that it would be available to me on May 4. But no one called me for any information during the week of May 4; no single call back despite several messages left. I was very unsatisfied with such poor and reckless customer service. I sent them another email on May 4 and expressed my satisfaction with their service. I informed them that if I could not receive the glass and they kept ignoring my requests for the information, I would cancel my order. Again, no one responded to me during the entire week of May 4.
I had an eye appointment at The Eye Center today. The staff was very good. Nice and friendly as was Dr. Fu who thoroughly discussed the eye exam with me and look all my questions. AND ...Miguel in the optical center was awesome. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He is a master at adjusting frames. I can't say enough about him. I had an amazing visit at The Eye Cent
I had the best experience with Dr. Fu and The Eye Center last week! I'm two months postpartum and experiencing eye dryness as well as some pressure, so I decided to drop in for a visit. The office was very clean, office staff was friendly and helpful, hand sanitizer was readily available, and social distancing was practiced. Dr. Fu was very patient and professional; even though the office was busy, he did not make me feel rushed. I was able to get my contacts prescription updated and he also gave me some samples to try. It's safe to say that I have found my new ophthalmologist!
This past week I took my 85-year-old aunt for an eye exam with Dr. Fu. Not only was he wonderful, but the whole staff was friendly and efficient! It was one of the best experiences I have ever had with an eye doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Fu and the Eye Center.
Had the worst experience! The managers are very unprofessional in order for you to get in contact with someone from optical! It can take up to days they will let you leave a voice mail! What kind of business is that!. They would try to up-sale you in any kind of way! In other words money is above great costumer service. Anyways I hope this review helps you just Being honest!
I have been a patient with The Eye Center for over 30 years. I started seeing Dr. Robert Feldman for myself and my children when his office was located in Olney, MD. The wait was long as he was the only doctor at that time, but he was great and the staff at that time was wonderful! They were friendly, helpful, and remembered you.Since the expansion of the office, adding more doctors to the practice, and the move of the office from Olney to Rockville, I do have to agree with many of the comments about the deterioration of the office staff. They are not as cheerful and friendly as the Olney staff was; although my office visit yesterday was a little better. My disappointment has been that since Dr. Feldman moved into the medical surgery side of the practice, I had to use a different doctor in the practice. Each time I decided on one, that person either moved to the medical side, left the practice, or retired. I saw Dr. Shannen Allen yesterday and was very pleased with her so I will continue with her.I have also been very pleased with the Optical Center within the office. Again, the personnel there has also changed quite a bit. My favorite person was there for many years and left several years ago to start a family. However, since last year, I have been happy to have worked with Miguel Perez who has quite a peppy personality and is very helpful and knowledgeable about fitting me with glasses.I live in Frederick so it is not a short drive for my appointments; however, for an annual visit, I will continue with The Eye Center as overall, I have been happy with the care received there.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
