Question? Is there MORE THAN ONE Dr. Jay W. Rhee in Maryland? It is IMPORTANT for me to know. Thank you.
I had the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor with this man. He truly gave off the impression that I was not worth his time. He was extremely condescending and offered me no suggestions or treatment options. I will never recommend this "doctor" to anyone. My physical therapist recommended I go to him to help with a herniated disc. He acted like he had no clue why I was even coming to him for help. He rushed through the appointment, didn't care about my questions, and offered no care options. Don't bother wasting your time or money on him.
The Best! I have seen several Dr's over the years for constant back pain, I was at the point where I could barely walk and was at the breaking point. My daughter saw Dr Rhee for something else and highly recommended him. My first visit I had a recent MRI in hand, he pointed out the problem and said I was past the point of PT and cortisone injections and scheduled my surgery ASAP. I am 2 and 1/2 week post surgery and their are no words to describe the relief I feel, even with the normal surgery type recovery I feel better than I have in years. I was worried about surgery but Dr. Rhee's confidence in knowing this would be the fix I needed was reassuring and helped tremendously with my anxiety. I have seen other nuero/spine Dr's before and none were as concerned, caring and confident in his ability to help me.
Dr. Rhee was an incredible provider. I learned I needed surgery urgently and he made me feel incredibly calm about the procedure. He and his entire staff were wonderful in getting everything I needed. The procedure went amazing and I am now living pain free. I am incredibly grateful for Dr. Rhee and recommend him to anyone.
An amazing neurosurgeon. I’ve had spinal issues for over 45 years after a 70 foot fall that almost killed me. I’ve had several surgeons before and this guy is the best. Very very highly recommended
Dr Rhee was filling in for another neurosurgeon after a brain surgery. As soon as he entered the room he said you need another brain surgery because things are not looking well, without explaining or giving reasons why another surgery is needed. He refuse to entertain questions, and just walked out of the room. No professionalism, no empathy, just rude and arrogant which is really bad for a neurosurgeon who is suppose to educate and empathize with patients and family that are going through a lot emotionally after devastating diagnosis. I know he is educated and smart to be in his profession but humility even if not taught in medical school should be incorporated holistically to build that trust in a client doctor relationship. I will not let him touch me or my family ever.
Chilling. Where do I begin? To start with the office in Frederick doesn’t have a landline. The office in Frederick location is not accurate searchable via Google maps. Google maps directs you to the old office location. One sees a note on a door at the old office location to go to the new office location. At the new office location Dr Rhee’s office is not listed at all. Figuring my time was wasted enough as I had waited weeks for the appointment. I walked into the office building just guessing were the office was. I lucked out. ( sarcasm) It was to your right, depending on where you walked into the building. So don’t use that as a guide it’s still not listed. So I was late to my appointment because I couldn’t find the location because the location changed and there was no communication about that. Dr Rhee came into the office. Barely looked at me /my mri and told me I needed surgery. I asked some questions and he literally told me I have patients waiting. Luckily, I had a second opinion at Johns Hopkins, where a more experienced neurosurgeon guided me and advised me. I left Dr Rhee’s appointment, feeling like he could care less about me as a person and he wanted to do surgery because it was a benefit to him moneywise.. I’ll just never forget when I told him I had some questions and he said I have patients waiting.
It was amazing visit here. DR. JAY RHEE explained me clearly about my condition. He also listened to his patient and allow me to talked. Amazing doctor! The staff were helpful. I appreciate to all your help. Thank you! ---Josephine Benjamin
I was seaking pain relief from two pain management groups for two years. Once I found Dr Rhee, he gave me the much needed relief I had been desiring for that period of time. He had to remove the devices that a pain management group had implanted, cleaned up the arthritic changes, placed cages, rods and screws. None of the issues I had prior to Dr Rhee now exist. He has done an amazing job.
I saw Dr. Rhee last fall for my lower back pain. I was 24 at the time and was brushed off by many doctors but Dr. Rhee took the time to listen and care, finding something that other doctors had missed on my MRI. One month later I had received a corticosteroid injection in my spine and my constant pain had ceased. I was then able to work with a chiropractor to recover from my injury. This is a great doctor who cares about his patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
