Dr Edney saved my life. I had a kidney stone that had positioned itself so that my kidney could not function. I was very thankful to see that my Dr, Dr Edney, was the Dr on call at the hospital that day. He performed emergency surgery that day and was very compassionate and kind.
Apparently my doctor, the physician assistant @ Chesapeake Urology and myself are ALL imagining my health issue.
I had a prostate biopsy done by Dr. Edney, Asked how long for results, he said 10 days. I told him I was going out of town, so 10 days was great, because I was taking a week off to go skiing. Three days later Dr. Edney calls my cell phone to tell me the results were in early. I was 300 miles away, so I said to him can I get the results now. He said no, I asked if it was a HIPPA issue, he said no, I needed to go to his office to hear the results. Now I am thinking I have Prostate cancer, my mind was racing. I had to know, so I cut my vacation short and drove 6 hours to get home and make an appointment. I did not have cancer, what a crappy thing to do, create fear, he knew I was out of town. Why call and say the results are in early, if he knew there was nothing to worry me. I would not let him evacuate my dogs anal glans. He has no bed side manner or consideration what so ever.
I was very impressed with Dr. Edney. He gave me plenty of time to tell him my symptoms and issues, and he really listened. He made the experience as good as it could possibly be. I would recommend him highly to anyone.
Told me to call at anytime if I had questions about is prescription but has not replied after 4 phone calls. I am very disappointed in his lack of consideration..
I went to this doctor to have a kidney stone crushed. He was one of the most self absorbed Doctors I have every seen and that is saying something since I had work at Johns Hopkins with Doctor who are the top in their field. After 4 visits he still know nothing about me .
I was a patient of Dr. Edney and Peninsula Urology for approximately 5 years. I have a spinal cord disorder which has caused problems which require a competent urologist. I have seen many, many doctors, survived surgeries and years of physical therapy to be able to walk. But never have I felt less cared about than the doctors and staff at this office. Dr. Edney does not take the time to listen or explain the procedures they perform, some being very invasive. On multiple occasions I was sent home without instructions or any idea what to expect from the treatment. When I called with questions or concerns during normal office hours, I was told to go to the hospital or my primary care doctor. Prior to my last visit, I discovered I had a kidney stone. Seemingly a very simple problem for a urologist. However, Dr. Edney informed me to go to my primary care doctor for treatment. And charged me for the visit. The only reason I continued seeing this doctor for so long is that they are the only urology practice in Salisbury. I have since gone across the bridge and received amazing care at both Chesapeake Urology and Johns Hopkins. I wish I had googled Dr. Edney and noticed his past malpractice lawsuits sooner, but am glad I didn't allow them to do any major surgeries. I didn't want to write this review, but after speaking to Laurie today who would not provide me with a copy of my file without a fee, I just feel others should know.

Dr. Edney is amazing. He is obviously very well educated in Urology but most importantly, takes time with his patients to understand their questions and fears. He is a great doctor and we are lucky to have him here in Salisbury.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
