MIchael Del Torto's Online Review Report Card

There are a number of problems with Easton Dermatology in Stevensville, MD (and with the head doctor, Dr. Del Torto, in Easton). 1) There is no doctor in the Stevensville office, only Physician Assistants (PAs). 2) The receptionist may greet you with “how can I help you?” the first time; from there on, she greets you with “you have a 50-dollar co-pay, I can take that now”. 3) It is almost impossible to communicate with your PA. When you call, you have to select a number, and the only number that is answered by a human is the one for making an appointment. Any other number has the automated “leave a message” response; you will be very lucky if anyone calls you back in response to your voice mail or the message you have left on the online form. Even when a nurse called them (as I was having my blood drawn), nobody answered. 4) Katelyn is a nice and polite young PA, who effectively diagnosed and treated an actinic keratosis spot that I had. But —on another skin issue— she did not know that iPLEDGE does NOT require from postmenopausal women to be (repeatedly) tested for pregnancy, or take contraceptives, practice abstinence etc. (would the scientists who created the iPLEDGE requirements have no common sense?). I tried to inform her, but she did not pay any attention. She was also unwilling to carefully read and understand laboratory results before making a treatment decision. When I protested to Katelyn for misinterpreting (or not reading) my blood test results, she was not interested in resolving the misunderstanding, while an assistant who was in the room taking notes (I should have asked for her name) told me very rudely that if I wanted treatment, I should just do what they tell me to do (without asking for clarifications). **Contacting Dr. Del Torto (via the online form and by regular mail) asking him to resolve these issues, was not fruitful (he did not even respond).** 5) I did not appreciate the fact that Katelyn asked me to come in for an appointment (which means $50 copay plus the money from my health insurance) for something that she could have told me with a quick phone call. Overall, my experience with them has been disappointing, frustrating, and a waste of time and money. This place felt to me more like a business that does not respect its customers rather than a doctor’s office.

As always, Dr D gave a thorough exam after asking if there were any concerns. He addressed the concerns, provided prescriptions and sent us off until next year. We’ll be back!

Fantastic doctor Answered all my questions Very professional

I as able to get an appointment fairly quickly by taking advantage of a cancellation in my area. I had seen Dr. Del Torto once before and was pleased by his advice then. This time he treated a precancerous place on my nose and answered my questions satisfactorily. I now consider this “my” dermatology office and him “my” dermatologist.

My experience being seen in this office of Dr. Del Torto was great! They were on time, had my information, exam was thorough, questions were answered and they were all professional. My only complaint was getting in to be seen but I only had a routine check so this was not an issue. Top notch!

From what I seen Dr Michael Del Tortois is arrogant and rude and is more interested in impressing his PA then treating his patients.

Dr. D Performed a very clean and professional surgical procedure on my cancerous sore on my calf. He thoroughly explained the procedure from start to finish. This was a bit more serious as the other procedures were either frozen or removed. He made sure that I would not feel any pain over the 45 minute procedure. Today was the 24 hour period after the surgery and we changed the bandage as prescribed. It was a "work of art", perfectly sutured, with very little swelling and a real relief to see. Thanks to Dr. D and Heather for their compassion and understanding. A true professional and a good man!

He has no skill as a surgeon. He removed a basel cell carcinoma from my arm and the scar is three inches long and raggedy. He is totally incompetent.

Dr Del I have been going to Michael for over 7 years for my Skin Cancer. He is thorough with his checkups and makes sure that suspicious areas are biopsied and have performed several procedures on those that could become melanomas. Always friendly and polite. The staff is also excellent. Oh yeah, I have an appointment in an hour!
