List of Joseph John Genovese's Reviews
My mother was scheduled to have a colonoscopy with Dr. Genovese. Well, she starved herself for 2 days, took 24 pills to get ready for the procedure and we just showed up and we were told that the appointment has been cancelled over a month ago by the doctor …. and they FORGOT TO INFORM US!!!! So I would really look for a more reliable and professional service.
One of the best best doctor so far
Very impressive! A specialist recommended Dr. Genovese as the best for experience and skill. Discovered he is also friendly and pleasant, and his assistants are too.
I have been a patient of Dr. Genovese for about 25 years and have found him to be extremely pleasant and competent. He has performed a number of colonoscopies on me because of a family history of colon cancer and is skilled and caring. Because I moved out of the area, I had two colonoscopies elsewhere and the experiences were not good. I now travel 90 miles to see him because, in my opinion, he is the best.
Dr. Genovese is really concerned about your health issue. He listens attentively as you explain your health concerns to him. He has practical and understandable suggestions on how to improve your situation regarding health concerns. Thank you Dr. Genovese.
Dr. Genovese Dr. Itel and their team have proven once again that they are the top of their profession, my procedure was taken care of from A to Z flawlessly - from the lovely receptionist to the final discharge. Thank You Dr. and thank you team, Dianne, Tisha and Maggie (I hope I spelled your names correctly...)and all the rest.
Zero start for Dr. J Genovese. I had an appointment with him for endoscopy and never took necessary images during the procedure. Had to be repeated at John’s hopkins. He referred me to another facility post endoscopy to get manommetry done. When we came back to discuss the manommetry results (6 weeks after which is the usual wait time) like we should have because he was the referring physician he was not prepared to discuss results with us. He had no clue that his practice called us to make an appointment to discuss the results. Instead he was suggesting us to do manommetry test again. When we explained the reason why we were there and that the results were delivered from Med star he got irritated. He does not like to be questioned, gets irritated when you ask him questions about the ongoing or upcoming procedure, makes decisions for patient and bedside manners are worst. What about his responsibility make Pra aware of their condition and help make informed decisions. Find another Dr.
Appointment was on time, friendly, thorough and efficient. A real pleasure. Dr Genovese was terrific!
My husband and I are both patients of Dr. Genovese and have always received excellent care from him. He also has excellent staff members. Recommend him highly.
Dr. Genovese is a wonderful doctor who seems very knowledgable and willing to answer questions. He does sometimes seem a bit rushed or distracted but I still felt he was able to thoroughly answer any questions I had and explained his medical advice well. However his office staff is rude and incompetent. The difficulty of scheduling an appointment, getting prescriptions refilled (and properly refilled), and getting messages returned caused me to search elsewhere for a GI.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
