From start to finish of Cataract diagnosis to removal in both eyes, is such a God given, technological, medical gift. It is a frightening, anxiety-filled thought, to have surgery on your eyes!! The staff in office and in the surgical center were great communicators. Each was personable, gave information that answered questions before I could ask, that made me anxious...how long? what to expect... Its important especially since they are your eyes. The surgical team , coordinator,with intake and follow-up was immediate, concise, friendly, professional, and reassuring even in the email. Thanks to Tracy! SurgicalTeam ! Of course Dr.Yau whose manner is professional, personable, in a calm demeanor that gives the comfort of assurance, being seen and heard. Thank you! Thank you for your gift. I saw Dr. Yau from 2008 until 2021. I had a very annoying problem of watery eyes that kept getting worse. Dr. Yau never diagnosed it correctly, but he also made no effort to. I finally went two other doctors, an ENT and another ophthalmologist. Both asked when Dr. Yau tested my tear ducts, and told me that it was a basic level of care. Dr. Yau had never checked my tear ducts, so over the years, it caused the "under-eyelid" to stretch out, and I required surgery. Making the situation worse, Dr. Yau, upon learning this, never expressed any sense of responsibility. To add insult to injury, the prescription for my last pair of glasses was also wrong, and again, Dr. Yau took no action to correct his errors. I certainly could not recommend this doctor.

I saw Dr. Yau from 2008 until 2021, both for watery eyes and a prescription. The watery eyes were incorrectly diagnosed the entire time: He "forgot" to check my tear ducts which is the lowest level of competency. My eye glass prescriptions were also wrong more than once. I would not recommend this doctor. No questions answered and very rushed. More interested in money than patients...and it really shows.

Dr. Yau failed to check the basics when I went in complaining or watery eyes in 2008, and didn't give me a correct diagnosis as late as 2021 when I went to another doctor, who diagnosed the problem and fixed it in 3 weeks, including minor surgery. Further, Dr. Yau often mis-prescribed my glasses.

Recent experience was terrible. Extremely long wait time. Tests done in an assembly-line fashion in different rooms by various staff. No explanation about the nature of the tests. Turns out one of the tests done wasn't paid by my insurance. Did not know what that test was for. Nothing ever explained. Doctor visit at the end of two hours. Do NOT see this doc. Too many unnecessary and unexplained tests.

Really great physician with a calm and caring manner. He is an excellent surgeon!!

Dr. Yau is outstanding in every way. He is precise in his work, and yet kind and patient. He is calm and steady. He takes time to explain various options and to answer your questions. My experience with him both in the office and in surgery was outstanding. I highly recommend him for anyone needing cataract surgery.

Dr. Yau is simply one of the best doctors out there. Caring, composed, and compassionate. His staff, over the years, have gotten worst. 80% have very thick accent that you don't understand half of what they are saying to you. Most of the time, they are rude, and treat the patients like they know nothing and it will take several times for them to get any billing right (because once again you question whether they understand english at all). For a practice that charges patients and their insurance companies an arm and a leg, I expect better service from the practice. But Dr. Yau is so nice that I have a hard time telling him just fire your staff, they really suck.

My family and I have been patients of Dr Yau for over 15 years. We've been so pleased with Dr Yau's care, so much so, that when he moved from Washington DC, to Spring several years ago, we made the transition with him. He is friendly , caring, knowledgeable and takes the time to answer all our questions at the visit. He sees patients on time. I always walk away from my visits knowing that I have received the best care and Dr Yau genuinely cares about my health

Dr. Yau performed cataract surgery on one of my eyes in March. I had gone to him because he had been highly recommended by several people whose opinion I respect. I was not disappointed. He recommended laser surgery in addition to the cataract surgery and the results were excellent. His office personnel were efficient and courteous. I plan on returning to him next year to have him remove the cataract from my other eye.
