List of David M. Cromwell's Reviews
Dr. Cromwell is a credit to his profession. He is friendly, knowledgeable and explains things so that you understand. He allows you to ask questions and listens to understand your concerns. He had read my chart prior to my appointment, so he was ready to address my issues. I definitely upgraded when I transferred my care to his office in Salisbury.
Dr. Cromwell is friendly, interested, and accessible. When my gastroenterologist retired two physicians recommended David Cromwell. He’s just so patient-friendly. You won’t be disappointed at all.
Professional, efficient, takes the time to listen...
I went into Dr. Cromwell's office with an acid reflux issue and came out with a fissure/hemorrhoid issue. I had a lot of acid regurgitation and some bright red blood on TP so Dr. Cromwell gave me a DRE with little warning. I yelled it hurt so bad and he said "Well that shouldn't have hurt." I've been bleeding and having horrible experiences pooping for several months now (I couldn't schedule anything due to the Coronavirus). I scheduled a flexible sigmoidoscopy with him to try and fix the issue and it seemed that every question I had regarding the prep was met with short answers that didn't answer what I had asked. I'm not interested in a doctor that doesn't have an interest in me. I ended up canceling because my friend had a similar issue with him. This review is a head's up because I found him based upon his excellent rating online and figured he would be the doctor for me. He was not.
Dr. Cromwell is unfriendly, cold, and quite arrogant
Came in for a 2nd opinion regarding a protracted GI issue. Was told by doctor's admin assistant that doctor would review my medical records transferred from another GI, in advance of my appointment (which as made in June for an August appointment). Doctor did not review my transferred records ahead of the appointment, and said he just came back from vacation. My appointment was late afternoon, so it would seem he could have made time to do the review. During my visit, doctor saw I had an x-ray (from March 2019), and seemed to rely on that to come up with an action plan. I first was impressed, but thinking more about the plan, afterwards, I have my doubts and do not feel as confident as I did initially, in the visit's outcome. How can a doctor rely on a 5-month old x-ray? shouldn't the doctor have ordered an updated x-ray, before the doctor develops an action plan for discussion with the patient?
Dr. Cromwell is a total class act. He and his ENTIRE staff are extremely warm, professional and pleasant. They truly help take the "nerves" out of what is an intimidating process. They even acknowledged my birthday which was the day before my procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Cromwell to any and all looking for a great Gastro Intestinal doctor.
Dr. Cromwell is extremely intelligent, thorough and caring. I highly recommend this practice.
Dr. Cromwell has been my doctor for over five years and love the care I receive from him and his staff are very professional.
Dr Cromwell is smart, kind and well connected to some of the best medical care in the Baltimore area. I recommend him highly.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
