List of Medmark Treatment Centers's Reviews
They can't keep counselors or directors. No one cares if you live or die. Urine sits around warm for days before testing and gives false alcohol positives to people who have ZERO DRINKING in their abuse history. There are maybe 2 or 3 decent counselors. I've had 7 in 18 months. No one here seems to care about the patients regardless of how hard we work and how many years we have clean. Talking to the current director is like a cross between talking to a prosecutor and a wall. WE DESPERATELY NEED COLLEEN BACK. JoAnn is very genuine and consistent and always makes time for anyone but her powers are limited. Having someone have your back or at least hear your concerns with an open mind is sometimes all you need to get through the day. And having someone work against you is sometimes enough to let your addiction and often accompanying mental disorder make you feel like giving up.
Horrific
It works if you play ball and do what you're supposed to do, if you need serious counseling I would recommend you see someone outside of the clinic. I feel like the councilors are there to monitor your progress and make sure you get the right dose and make sure you are stabilized. Only my opinion.
My mom is sick with Dementia I never had a dirty one day they call me to bring my bottles back I didn't have nobody to watch her to go to the program so they took my bottles
Hi. I have been with this place for some time now. I have done everything that I'm supposed to do. I think I could be a poster boy of what this program wants for their clients. That being said, January I lost a week of my two weeks due to miscommunication. Now I'm in the process of the same thing happening again due to the fault of my counselor. Now in no way is my counselor a bad one because she's been the absolute best. I've tried to talk to the director But she never calls back or won't et knowledge the fact you called. I need the owners to look into this because this isn't right I'm being treated so WRONG. HELP ME someone. Please....
This place has been up and down since I started treatment over 10 years ago, when it was Glass, but it's worse now than it's ever been. I wish i could delete my past good review from when Colleen was the director. Letting her go was devastating to this place and the difference she made was unparalleled. While I will miss some of the staff, (the receptionists, security guard, and a few of the nurses), sometimes I feel like they're working against you instead of for you. They have done away with their 4-6PM hours and are supposedly open until one but they make you come before noon or you lose your take-homes. I have had 2 panic attacks in the last 3 days because I am so stressed about seeing my counselor tomorrow.I am planning on transferring to Riverside. I have heard firsthand they are amazing there and their reviews are glowing. I don't know Joe S., who left the review about losing his take-homes through no fault of his own, but that is not uncommon here at Medmark Timonium. They give vague responses to bad reviews, but never actually address the problems. This is more of a business than a treatment center, don't expect to feel important here, because it's clear they see you as just another junkie.Side note- In response to reviews blaming this program or methadone for DUI's. Police don't blood test you after an accident unless you're showing signs of impairment. They can tell the difference between a high and a head injury. Meth does not get you high unless you're taking pills with it or taking way more than prescribed. People who say these things make the rest of us look bad. I've managed to drive in bad weather or get through a flat (which is more like an effect of an accident than a cause) without landing in prison.
I have been a client at Medmark for many years. I have to say there have been a number of Directors that have come and gone , some without anyone even knowing they were there. Collen was an asset to Medmark in so many ways, she was in the halls, always friendly and truly trying to make a difference. Her abrupt absence was a big mistake, it's a shame when upper management ( who is not present in the building everyday) doesn't realize what a good Director and an attribute to Medmark Collen was. She will truly be missed!!!!!
Where do I get an EKG done if they don't give them?
This first part is before we got a new director. At the time I had given it 1 star. The way things are now, you couldn't find a better clinic. There are people here who truly care about your recovery and go the extra mile to ensure your success. Our director is empathetic and passionate and the staff (for the most part) are friendly and respectful. My counselor is AMAZING!*********************************************I have a long clean time and maximum earned take homes but I am not happy here. I have had 10 counselors in 3 years because they can't keep help. I don't drink but had an alcohol positive in my urine when my breathalyzer the same day was negative. Counselor Debbie Reed violated HIPAA laws by sharing my private and personal information with another client. They can't keep counselors so by the time you begin to trust someone they leave. I have also had my medication taken from 55 mg to 35 mg in one day because of a counselor's mistake and the doctor refused to fix it, waiting almost a month of being deathly ill to take me up 5 more milligrams and 2 more weeks to take me up another 5. Many new patients complain their dose is too low and they can't stay well. It is 5 minutes from my house but I am looking for an alternative program now after coming back from a week's vacation and finding yet another counselor gone.*********************************************I would now give it 4.5 stars. We have a new director who is intelligent, kind, passionate, and compassionate. After posting my original review, I was called into her office on my next visit, not to be scolded, but to be told I was appreciated as a client and asked what changes could be made to make me stay on and have a positive experience. The lab situation was resolved, they no longer use the lab that was making mistakes. I was immediately given a new counselor that I love, and was asked to be a part of the Client Advisory Board, which had been done away with but was recently restarted. New director has also brought back groups, which are voluntary, and very beneficial to recovery. We even have an art group. There are still a few employees who can be less than friendly, but you will probably have that anywhere you go. Security is friendly but they do their job. We have no problems in the parking lot any more.
Acupuncture is amazing, if I miss acupuncture is like missing a meal. It sustains me and helps me in many ways. Ramona my counselor is top drawer - she the finest counselor I have ever worked with. She is tops!!! Carl is excellent with the acupuncture - it never hurts! The director is always on top of everything.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
