After nearly three years with her office, I finally had to walk away. That first year or so was great but after a complete 180 on patient / office communications, I needed to leave. From never answering the phone, not answering messages and refusing to advocate for my well-being, I feel defeated and frankly, hurt.

Just okay. She is kind enough, but seems distant from thyroid disorders. She wanted to raise my thyroid medication, so she switched me from 65mg of Naturethroid, to 88mcg of Levo --- which is actually lowering my dose. When I called, her staff insisted she was adamant about the 88mcg, then she was upset that I was asking about it, I tried to explain that a mcg is less than a mg, she was actually lowering my dose, there's even a conversion chart by U.S. Pharmacopea showing that, but she just got frustrated. She finally relented to prescribing me 112mcg-- which is still only about the same level of medication I was already on. I've taken thyroid medication for almost 20 years and haven't been on such a low dose as 88mcg in over a decade. She also told me to only have appointments once a year, but with a nodule I'd previously been told two or even three times a year. She still thinks she did me a favor, somehow.

Altho Ms Thottan is a good Dr, the "Omnicron Covid protocol" was not mentioned prior to my in-person visit. So my PCM released me after 10 days,.but the Endocrinologist office comes up with 30? They denied my appt that I've had for 4 months (after that arrived) and made me do virtual from the car. Better communication, please!! Publish protocols. Give evidence that CDC says 30 days!!

My first visit seemed to go well, but I later realized she had been very dismissive of my symptoms and insisted I had since that I didn't. Between that and the fact that she didn't get me lab results in a timely matter before going on leave for 3 weeks I'm less than thrilled about my care. None of the other doctors in the practice could see me either without me being a new patient.

I am 45 and was diagnosed with thyroid disease when I was 12. Dr.Thottan has by far been the best doctor I’ve had.
