List of Sailaja C. Nandipati's Reviews
She is a wonderful rheumatologist, very informed, gentle, attentive, thorough and a caring clear communicator.
I've been seeing Dr. Nandipati for almost a decade, and have been quite pleased. She cares for her patients and takes her time with each one. I have never felt rushed during my exam and discussion time. She really listens to what I have to say, which I truly appreciate. It can be difficult to get the office on the phone at times. It seems like the window of opportunity to call them is limited -- just a couple hours in the morning and a few hours in the afternoon. (For example, most days the office is open 8:30 - 5:00, but the phones are only on 9:30-11:30 and 12:30-4:30.
Doctor is very knowledgeable in both autoimmune diseases and osteoarthritis and has treated me for over 15 years. She also has a pleasant demeanor and is easy to talk with. Very happy to have her as my Rheumatologist.
Apparently I had a no show (I do not remember) 3 yrs ago. I have an autistic child and could not go out anywhere for about a two year period so I had stopped seeing ALL doctors. Now that my son is in school I can go back to going to the doctor, I called and made an appointment 3 months in advance. A few days before my appointment the office left me a message stating they refused see me because I had a no show appointment three years ago. Unprofessional.
The only reason doctors like Dr. Nandipati are still booked is because we cannot get specialists to practice in Charles County and no one wants to do the two hour commute to see another practitioner elsewhere. Expect 2 or more hours waiting for your appointment. She then leaves you in the middle of the exam for another 20+ minutes to speak to her husband, take phone calls, talk to other patients, etc. It is extremely frustrating when you have already waiting over two hours to see her and she walks out of the exam and you sit there waiting all over again. Her staff is the rudest I have come across. Don't expect to get anything done over the phone, even making appointments, if they actually answer the phones. If you cancel for any reason they will ban you from the office forever. Therefore you have to go see her even when ill. We really need to do something about getting more doctors and specialists (and especially better educated ones) in this area!
Dr. N is very good at explaining things. She helped me to understand the true nature of being prone to blood clots, how to warn doctors of the condition, how to avoid taking medications that will make it worst. Invaluable information that no other specialist told me. She also explained another critical issue that no other specialist explained. She's not quick to offer meds and she runs appropriate tests. She cares about my overall health. Her office staff needs personality
She is a very pleasant person however she doesnt have office hours M-F which limits scheduling. She tells me to follow up one time but writes something different on the chart. If you don't follow up within the time she wrote (which may be different from the time she verbalized), she won't refill your prescription. This has happened numerously. Also the doctor has an office policy of not filling out forms for patients which makes her a poor patient advocate in my opinion. The staff is stoic.
I am diagnosed with Lupus Dr. helped me understand the disease and get through the worst days of it until she got me to a stable state. She has always been so gentle and understanding and willing to spend the time to explain and answer questions.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
