List of Pearle Vision's Reviews
My experience at the Pearle Vision Center was very pleasant. The staff was very nice and very helpful with each step of the process before and after my eye examination with Dr. David Kepner was very thorough with my examination, asked questions regarding my vision history and was very knowledgeable with his answers to my questions. I would highly recommend this office for your vision needs.
Dr. Kepner and his staff are professional, knowledgeable, thorough, efficient and kind. I have been seeing him for years and will always go to him.
I had a very good experience at this location after trying several different eyewear chains in the area. I think Pearle Vision is probably more expensive than some of the others, but they were able to quickly fit me with a frame and can craft lenses much more quickly than other places. I have a high prescription with a lot of astigmatism but the lenses arrived perfectly the first try.
I'm *really* glad I found this place (while searching for anyone who took Aetna Vision insurance). I don't think I've ever visited an office with a friendlier or more helpful staff and optometrist. They really project competence and honesty; I knew I was getting a through and genuine run-down of my issues and options. (I thought my lenses were great, but Dr Keppner showed how my vision could be improved and I'm already surprised I didn't realize the problem.) I haven't done much comparison shopping, but I'm pretty sure my costs for contact lenses + replacement lenses for eyeglasses were lower than I've paid elsewhere. Highly recommend in the Wheaton - Silver Spring - Takoma Park area.
Check in process and the actual exam with Dr. Kepner was GREAT. At the time of check out I was asked if I'm also purchasing contacts as well and I told the guy it will depend on the price, and the answer I got was "you are using your insurance, right? It won't matter anyway then". False statement but I decided to play along and hear the quote since it was my first time. The price I got was TWICE as other place I usually go to but the guy kept insisting "you are getting an awesome deal because you are only paying $20 per month!!". I politely asked for the price per box and informed the guy that's twice as much as my other place. He was quick to turn off his smile and told me he won't reduce the price by 50%. I should've told him I wasn't, I was only pointing out that he is wrong and base price does matter with contacts even with insurance, and his presentation and "sales pitch" do not represent good customer service. Bottom line, I will go back for Dr. Kepner but not to purchase contacts or glasses.
I had an appointment with Dr/Mr Kepner and my experience was 10/10. He took his time to examine my eyes and explain every step and process to me. I have found my new yearly optometrist. I highly recommend this practice.
The extra star is for Dr. David Kepner, who was fantastic from start to finish. I try to support local businesses whenever possible, which is what brought me to Pearle Vision along with the stellar reviews. My experience before and during the eye exam was outstanding. The only issue was when it came time to purchase my contact lenses, they quoted me a price that was more than 50% higher than any of the online stores and confidently stated that their prices are "the same as 1-800 CONTACTS." I was pretty sure the prices I had found online were much lower, so I went home and confirmed that to be the case. But as mentioned, I really try to support local businesses, so I returned to the store and informed them that their price was more than 50% higher than the price I found on 1-800 CONTACTS but that I would still be willing to pay more than the online price if it meant supporting a local business. Nonetheless, even though I was holding the actual online price in front of me, the lady simply repeated that their prices were "the same as 1-800 CONTACTS" and refused to lower their price even a little bit. Having resigned myself to just buying it online, I asked for a copy of my prescription (which they never gave me during my initial visit, even though they are legally required to), and the lady reluctantly printed it out, scribbled a forged signature, and handed it to me without any eye contact. A week later, when I decided I wanted to go back to my old brand of contact lenses, I paid for another eye exam elsewhere just to avoid having to deal with this store again.
Excellent coaching behind the wheel with 100% patience and highly technical know-how. Highly recommended driving school. Endalew Thank you for your patience and teaching skills. Keep up the good job.
Excellent customer service!!!
Dr. Kepner was great! The guy at the front however convinced me to get a 12-month supply of contacts (rather than 6-months) because there was a rebate. I had 2 issues with this - first being that he told me it was a $100 rebate when in fact, it was only $50; and second being that THE REBATE WASN'T EVEN VALID YET so I was declined anyway.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
