Dr. Engler and team are outstanding. Caring, compassionate, professional, knowledgeable, the list goes on. Our experience over the last 2 months coming in for treatment for my daughter's broken upper arm has been amazing. We appreciate everything they have done. Thank you.

They make you believe you will have an appointment for surgery, not clearly communicate what it will be for by the surgeon Dr.Zimmerman or the scheduling staff. I call today to get instructions for tomorrow and I had 3 very unpleasant phone calls with the staff where they were very rude and would just adamantly disagree with anything you’re saying. I was prepared to go in for a surgery and take two weeks off of work. I planned someone to take time off from work for this as well. And then on the phone I get “we wouldn’t schedule someone that far in advance” when I had a conversation with the surgeon in July that he wanted it out in six months and thats what I had assumed I scheduled my appointment for. The front desk staff at the time let me believe this would be possible. But now not the case??? Your office needs a change of who works on the phones and to work on communicating with each other and your patients. This is so unfair to me that your office is terrible with being clear and communication. Also would love to add the dismisses me from PT but didn’t call to tell me - they sent me a letter months later after I had tried calling multiple times to get scheduled again. Oh and I’ll also add in that my follow up after surgery was terrible because a blonder older woman working there had NO empathy. Today when I called regarding this one of their surgery schedulers literally said “oh my god” when I kept repeating my concern and then when I say she is terrible at customer service her tone switches to very pleasant and she says “thank you very much” bear in mind this is after calling me back from hanging up on me when I asked for a supervisor. AWFUL COMMUNICATION HERE AND PATIENT CARE! Edited / Next day at my appointment Dr. Zimmerman greeted me and said how I came off angry. I said I was upset with how his staff treated me on the phones (referenced above). I got an apology for the “mixup” but not an apology or any sincerity for how his phone staff and the practice manager lacked compassion and very bluntly were rude other than from his assistant Lisa. He was nice enough after the “apology”.

The hip replacement surgery that Dr.DeFrance performed has changed my life significantly! I am so pleased and grateful! Brilliant Dr. Love his staff of young people. Good energy and respectful. Tytyty

I have been in chronic pain for couple years now. They have kept their promise on not stopping until it's managed properly . When I needed serious relief, they made sure I had it and I'm not one to cave on pain .but reality of my conditions ,is that it's debilitating in the end .they believed me and that makes all the difference in my book . I recommend any of the doctors as I've been seen by almost all of them .the dedication is worth the whole process. Thank you so much .

I am 6 weeks out from total knee replacement of my left knee, and I have nothing but praise for the team under Dr Michael Defrance, who did the replacement using MAKO. Dr Defrance's office staff, his surgical staff, especially his PA Elizabeth, and the entire nursing and PT team at Central Maine Hospital of Lewiston, Maine could not have taken better care of me. When obstacles arose, they conquered them. When I had questions, they had the answers. They are a caring, compassionate and truly empathetic group of people, one and all. I believe that has a lot to do with the surgeon at the top of the team, Dr Defrance. Dr Defrance made certain that I understood everything from beginning to end, and made sure surgery was necessary before we scheduled. I would be remiss if I did not also mention the Hospital Kitchen Staff. They were responsive and pleasant, and their choices for meals were more like a menu from a 5 star restaurant, and tasted every bit as good as they sounded on the menu. My experience at Central Maine Orthopedics was excellent. The entire staff was very helpful and professional. Dr. Engler is one of the best surgeons around. After having a major repair on my rotator cuff, the results were better than expected. We were both pleased. With Dr. Engler in the O.R. and Allison & crew making sure all things run smoothly behind the scenes.....it doesn't get any better than this, you can take that to the bank.

Amazing experience, Dr. Engler was able to fix my shoulder and it feels great! He did a fantastic job answering my questions before surgery. The staff was very polite and if I need orthopedic surgery again I know my choice would be to return here.

I had a full shoulder replacement done in March (2023) by Dr. Ian Enlger and his team. After surgery I was assigned physical therapy and conducted the sessions at Central Maine Orthopedics Therapy Unit. I can't speak highly enough about the treatment, follow up and recovery through all those involved. To name just a few: Dr. Engler, Shawna, John, Len, Jordan, Kayla... all professionals, personable and willing to push you for a full recovery.
