List of Memorial Hospital - North Conway's Reviews
Appointment for knee pain causing difficulty walking standing sitting kneeling lying down climbing stairs etc. Had missed partial week of work recently due to extreme pain and immobility. August 10 I limped into waiting area and was called into the exam area within 15 minutes of my appointment time. When doctor arrived and examined my knee a tentative diagnosis was made but MRI was needed to confirm. Doctor mentioned that insurance could require physical therapy before approving an MRI so he told me Sit tight while I go grab that and left me while he printed off some exercises. I never saw the doctor again. His assistant returned with ten or so pages of exercises that began with You should warm up... by walking or riding a bicycle for ten minutes before these exercises. I mentioned that I was in too much pain and wouldnt be able to do the warmup let alone the exercises. Assistant reply Just do what you can. I asked if I should be doing those movements hold my foot behind my back halfsquats hamstring curls leg extensions etc. with this knee problem. Assistant reply Youre all set I said I thought I would be able to ask the doctor more questions since I hadnt even gotten a chance to ask anything. She asked Like what? I mentioned that I had missed work and wanted to know if I should be on restricted duty. Wanted to know if I should be elevating immobilizing icing heating my knee. She repeated No youre all set. Lets get your MRI set up.I advised that I have had extensive problems with anything at the CMMC campus including imaging and asked for a referral to St. Marys for imaging. I was assured that my MRI order was sent to St. Marys. I limped back to my car and drove home. That evening I received two calls from the CMMC imaging scheduling center. The following day I received another call from them. I let them know it was a mistake each time and that I was supposed to be going to St. Marys. I called CMHC Ortho and had them confirm that the order was for St. Marys which they did. Over the next week I received two more calls from CMMC trying to schedule my MRI. I then received a confirmation in the mail from my insurance provider that the MRI was approved. I contacted St. Marys to schedule and they verified they never received an order for my MRI. I contacted CMHC Ortho and the very helpful person who answered said that they saw only a note on the CMMC imaging order that said St. Marys and no indication of anything being sent to them. She included a note on my file to send the order to the appropriate provider.Yesterday I received two more calls from the CMMC imaging scheduling center who confirmed they were calling because of a new MRI order that had been sent to them. I contacted CMHC Ortho and reached another helpful associatenurse who confirmed there was no order to St. Marys on my file. She updated my record to indicate that St. Marys be faxed the order and that I receive a followup call when that was done. I received a call a few hours later from the doctors assistant and was told that there was a mixup that the Dr. is away and all communications are by email so these things happen. The order was finally sent to St. Marys and I should be able to selfschedule my MRI in the morning.Recap Waited for 75 days for an exam of my painful knee which had caused me to miss work and reduce activity all summer. My actual exam took less than three minutes and the doctor flitted away as soon as he possibly could leaving me with Ms. youre all set to complete my treatment. I never was able to ask my doctor any followup questions like how to take care of my knee request crutches etc. I waited 13 days for the provider to send my imaging order to the correct location and received a total of six calls from the wrong scheduling center. If possible you should stay away from the ER or anything else at CMMC CMH CMFP and anything else operating under Central Maine Health. Your care is not the priority there. My experience is not an outlier.
Looks like my entire review got deleted. This place is a nightmare. I had surgery on 6221 I have been ghosted by my doctor numerous times. He has filled out my workers comp paperwork the wrong way multitudes of times causing my injury to not heal. When I call he is never there. His assistant is the most rude.I was there again yesterday and because they did not write the limits clear enough I am being put back to workthe wrong way AGAIN. If you wish to keep your limbs do not go to this place. I regret ever taking their word that he was a great doctor and a trauma orthropaed they lied. They dont care about you.worst part is now no other doctor will touch me because I had surgery. I am being referred back to the doctor that doesnt care. I am now searching out of state.Stay away from this placeUpdate 102121. I am still fighting them no other doctors will see me because I had a botched surgery with this place. My doctor that is either sick or on vacation everytime i have an appt or his back up who screamed at me as if I were a child. Stay away.. I am making a formal complaint against this place to the maine licensing board. I will make sure to post this review everywhere I canto prevent this from happening to anyone else. Stay away from Dr. Carlson and dr. Fallon
Waited 20 minutes only to be put on hold. Other offices take your number and call you back. Not these folks.
On hold times are way too long. Cant get a call back. Been waiting over a week for a call back. Terrible and they dont seem to care
I went in for knee pain. Dr Regan was great. He had an assistant he was training. He made sure I was comfortable. And did exrays. Found I had to replace cartilage in knee. Will have weight loss surgery first then knee surgery. It will be better for recovery.
Unprofessional Alarming Careless are just a few words I describe of Dr McLachlan. The first two visits “seemed” okay until the day before I discussed the injection procedure I was going in for.Not only did I express concerns during the first two visits regarding specific steroid meds but their allergic reactions. Still couldn’t be provided an understandable response.I asked the nurse if I could learn what the med actually is? Not only was the Med in the same family of a steroid I’m allergic too the combination is of two medications that are once again on my allergy list. However worse as these two meds cause severely harmful effects such stop breathing tongue swelling and more.I feel as though this Dr did not do his due diligence reviewing my chart properly and was going to do whatever he wanted regardless of any effects on my health. Needless to say I expressed to the nurse I am uncomfortable with him furthering my care and that I would never recommend him to anyone Personally if he’s doing this to me then who else is he doing this too? It’s alarming and I’ve considered reporting him to air on the side of caution for others who are being treated the same. 1010 will NEVER recommend this Dr
I called one week ago asking for a call back regarding me returning to work after surgery. No return calls I have left 2 more messages asking for a call back nothing. I am now on hold for 45 minutes waiting to speak to a real person. Do real people even work there. Worst office to get in touch with. I work at a doctors office and all calls are answered within minutes and returned by the next day. Not impressed.
Waited on hold for 15 minutes twice just to get transferred to voicemail. If I wanted to play phone tag I would have left a message at the beginning of my lunch break. This was after I saw a doctor who was more interested in being a comedian than providing medical care. He thought because I’ve been dealing with knee pain for a year and a half that I could wait 2 more months to see what happens. I was calling back to see if I could get an appointment with someone else.Plus side the billing office different option on the phone had no record of the bill they sent me so I couldn’t pay it.
I called one week ago asking to have a Return to Work order faxed to my job so I can resume working I was assured it would be faxed over the day I called and here we are one week later and it still hasnt been done. The only good thing about this place is Doctor Clark and the fact that hes a wonderful surgeon. Those answering phone calls seem like they could care less about getting people the care they need. Ive been on hold for over an hour and Im caller number 1. Absolutely ridiculous. You people are keeping me from working.
Was calling to reschedule my appointment because I had blood work on that same day and time sat on the phone for over a half an hour waiting counting down from number 10 call at the number one and then they come on and say we will call you back and they hang up so I called them back and I went back door number 11 wait your turn not impressed at all

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
