Cary Qualia's Online Review Report Card

Updated: I have to give Dr Qualia a review because once we were able to get past getting the appointment, Dr. Qualia is wonderful! (Original review: 1 star So I'd like to be able to review the Dr. himself here but I can't even manage to get a call back from his office to schedule an appointment for my son. My son's Doctor has written and called, his father has called and I have called twice so far. Still no call. Still no appointment. We need a new pediatric Gastroenterologist in this area.)

Dr. Qualia, both caring and brilliant, treated both of my teenagers, one for a stubborn C-diff infection, the other for chronic eating disorder GI issues. I can't thank him enough. He reviews cases carefully, thoughtfully listens, and treats both the children and parents kindly and respectfully with a necessary sense of humor. He knows his stuff, and he does not rush into colonoscopies. With both my children, he tried other measures first. During my daughter's colonoscopy prep he took 2 panicked phone calls from me and reassuringly told me what to do. If your child needs a GI, putting your child in the care of Dr. Q means that your child will be in the care of the best doctor ever.

Dr Qualia was very nice. He took the time to answer all of our questions and was very helpful and encouraging. He started testing on my son in a very thoughtful approach, explaining all the reasons, what he was looking for etc. then explained what the protocol would be based on those tests. We left feeling like help was on the way after the first visit! Sadly you just don't see this in every Doctors office!

Dr. Qualia is an amazing Doctor. He figured out what was wrong with my daughter when it seemed no one else could. Since Dr. Qualia my daughter's feeding tube has been removed and she is gaining weight on her own. Also his bedside manner is very good as well. Keep it up Dr. Qualia :)

Dr Qauilla and his staff have been taking care of my daughter for awhile and they are phenomenal!!! Best care team ever!!

He's the best. Calming, reassuring. Listens to mom. Great with kids. Diagnosis was accurate and medicine did the trick.

Hard to get an appointment but when you see him he is never rushed. Sits down and listens carefully to what you say and is very empathetic. Even when a diagnosis was hard to determine, he laid out all the scenarios and made us feel that my son's care was totally under control. He performed a colonoscopy on my son and came out and spent an enormous amount of time discussing every last detail. I am very impressed with him and would highly recommend him

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Qualia. He is caring, patient, informative, and proactive in the care of my child. He is a tremendous asset to Albany Medical Center.

My daughter had been complaining about chest pain for a few weeks when we went to see Dr.Qualia. He was very sweet and focused his office time with my daughter for about 45 minutes. He didnt rush us out of the office and was able to give us an idea of what he thought might be causing her some discomfort. After being on medication for two weeks, I made a call to him about my daughter and how she was still complaining. He suggested an Endoscopy, as he felt it would be the best and most accurate way to find out any problem she may have. I was nervous, but after speaking to him, I felt relaxed. Today was her Endoscopy and she did great. He came right out and spoke to me and my husband. He was great with my daughter. He is a very kind, intelligent, and caring doctor.
