List of Leigh Bretta's Reviews
6 months ago, I had the ultimate misfortune of having Dr. Bretta attend the delivery of my daughter. While I was under her “care,” she performed a nonconsensual cesarean. Dr. Bretta has acknowledged at least six times that I clearly refused consent for a cesarean, but she ignored every single one. She tried to get my partner to give consent on my behalf. In my medical record, the nurse quoted him as saying “she does not want a c-section and I will not make that decision for her.” Despite acknowledging that I clearly did not consent, Dr. Bretta requested the operating room be prepared. She continued to harass and berate me, treating me as if I was a disobedient child. She sarcastically told my partner that “Women give birth to dead babies all the time” when he asked if I was in any danger. I broke down. I couldn’t fight anymore. I was too weak to defend myself. I told them that it didn’t matter, that I was just trash, and to bring me the cesarean consent form. I signed under dur

I signed under duress, sobbing. She had me dragged into the operating room where she cut me open, doing irreparable harm to my uterus. My daughter wasn’t breathing when she was born, and I was sobbing on the operating table. Nobody spoke to me. Nobody told me what was going on. My partner wasn’t able to come in until after our daughter was born. He looked around the surgical drape to try to figure out what was happening, getting a lovely view of my mutilated uterus as it was still pulled outside of my body. He tried to tell me he could see our daughter moving. I didn’t believe him. I told him she was dead. NOBODY told me what was happening to my daughter. Instead, my partner and I could hear someone joking, “be careful with those scissors, you could cut someone!” Dr. Bretta has since admitted she was the one to make that statement. She claims that she was saying that to warn her assistant that she was not watching out for her assistant’s fingers, as it was a stat cesarean. But this was said after my daughter was born, and after any need for a rush. Dr. Bretta violated her ethical duty to respect my nonconsent. She behaved unprofessionally. She treated me like trash. Her hospital bio says, “Dr. Leigh Bretta's philosphy [sic]; Today’s women deserve full, clear, and up-to-date facts about their bodies, their choices, and maintaining well-being. My role is to educate my patients about the options available and come to a decision together.” I find this bio to be a cruel joke. The only correct “decision,” as far as Dr. Bretta is concerned, is perfect obedience to her demands. Nothing can undo the harm that she did to me, but I can do this much at least. Do not accept care from this woman. She does not care about her patients, their choices, or their wellbeing.
She was my Dr for my last baby where my drs office closed (he delivered my other two and was the best dr anyone could ask for) I was in labor for 3 days before anyone would listen to me, i could barley walk. I called numerous times for her to say “well I think you’re fine if the contractions become 2 minutes apart call me back” so I decided to make a post on fb asking if there was any other places because I didn’t like the way I was being treated (I was told I was 3 cm then the next week I was none, they refused to do an ultrasound when my last one was 28 weeks) well day 3 came along and I called again crying and she finally said “come in tonight and I’ll induce you” I was 6 cm when I got there and she said “oh you’ve been in labor for a while” I got there at 11pm, she broke my water at 11:10 and 30 mins later my daughter was born. When I went in for my 6 week check up she scolded me for making a post, all while I still had nothing but a sheet covering me.(Mind postpartum was hitting really bad) She told me how awful and rude I was for the post I made on Facebook asking who else there is for doctors. I ended up switching offices after that. I wouldn’t ever recommend her to even my worst enemy.
If youre looking for a compassionate provider that listens to you & will focus on your needs, go elswhere. This 2nd pregnancy came w/a Gestational Diabetes diagnosis. The "Dr" didn't even order a second blood sugar test as per the norm. She assumed the first was correct. I bring this up because redundancy is important in care. This was a warning of speed and habit overtaking the personalized care needed. Since the first test, all the sugar levels have been GREAT since then. But, the Dr brought up induction and we still need to listen. We believe this pregnancy is quite on par with the norm, so we wanted to get a weight estimate of the baby in case we needed to make the induction choice. The Dr. told us no. It seemed pompous & curt after speaking with other OB/GYNs they let us know there was no reason for this uncaring, rushed & kinda heartless denial. We are paying for a service. Why deny? We requested it! We decided to get rid of her in the 39th week of pregnancy. Think about that!

Dr. Bretta is great. She makes an awkward experience feel normal and is very accommodating when I ask questions due to an extensive family history of cancer.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
