Dr Cohen is the best neurosurgeons in the state of Maine I highly recommend him he has great bed side manner

After lifting something I should have known better not to lift, I suffered Plus 300 pain in my leg for 8 weeks. Being a healthcare provider, I knew I needed help. Dr. Cohen gave us answers and the gist of what had to be done, He was great and the pain disappeared before I woke from anesthesia. He is the best at explaining and knowing just what to do. I would refer my family to him if the need ever arose. He showed great concern for what I was going through (and what My wife was going through). If you need his expertise (and we can only hope not), you are in good hands. Thank You Dr. Cohen.

Dr. Cohen performed removal of a pituitary gland tumor on me. On my first visit with him he was very informative and provided me with an extensive explanation of the procedure and expectations for the outcome. Dr. Cohen was very thorough and professional with providing information prior to surgery. His daily follow up visits with some of his team members while I was still in the hospital after surgery were superior. The outcome from this surgery was excellent. I would highly recommend Dr. Cohen for pituitary gland surgery.

Dr.Cohen was very professional, And was very open on the outcomes of my operation, which was very important to me. Only time will tell on my trigemial nerve loop procedure and it's final outcome on my facial pain. Dr. Cohen has given me a clear path on future procedures if this one fails. Dr. Cohen performed emergency brain surgery. His professionalism, calmness and ability to communicate to me exactly what he was going to do and how, was very reassuring. I cannot say enough good things and I know he saved my life.

I injured my back three months ago. I have had severe leg pain since. After my primary care doctor put me through all preliminary testing, we decided to make an appointment. I researched neurosurgeons at Northern light EMMC and thought Dr. Cohen was to be my choice. Being a health care provider myself, I found his credentials and other reports on him were good. Our first meeting went well. He showed extreme concern for the pain I was in. We discussed the two avenues of surgical intervention and we set a date. Everyone involved was great. Even though I am in healthcare, I was nervous and scared. Dr. Cohen knew what had to be done an explained it very carefully for us (my wife was with me). The office called when I got home and set a date for the following week. All prep questions were clear. On that day, after the pre-op stuff was done, Dr. C. came and and said all was ready and not to worry. When I awoke in post-op, my wife was there and the Nurse Dr. C. came in and I was pain free

I had a previous hemangioma,which ddnt go as well as my experience with dr cohen.he answered any questions or concerns i had. I felt extremely comfortable doing so.In fact he offered to follow up on my case should i move to NH.my last provider left me in the wind!

Dr. Cohen was very thorough in his explanation prior to and after my surgery and during my recovery. I would certainly recommend Dr. Cohen to anyone needing a neurosurgeon.

Dr. Cohen is a blessing. On May 16, 2020 he saved my daughters life. He has performed 2 surgeries on her and I am forever grateful the amazing job he has done. He kept her suture lines hidden in her hair line and did nice clean work! 10/10 would recommend him to anyone. He is also VERY personable and was amazing to converse with about everything.

Michael saved my life!! I had a brain aneurysm and would not have survived if he hadn't moved to Bangor area, I would have had to go to Portland or Boston for the type of surgery I had. You can barely see the scar due to only shaving minimal hair. Highly recommend awesome personality and an Excellent surgeon!! 5 star!! 😇😇😇😇😇
