Lawrence Piazza's Online Review Report Card

I recently received excellent care regarding my cataract surgery by Dr. Lawrence Piazza. I was very nervous and had put off this procedure for a long time but I'm so grateful that I was referred to Coastal Eye Care in Ellsworth, Maine. I am completely impressed with the way everyone involved made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Piazza was dedicated to give me the best vision I have had in years. I am very satisfied with the whole experience from the initial visit to the final appointment today. Thank you all again for the kindness and great care I received.

In September it will be 1 year after cataract surgery. I continued my care with him until 3/21. I followed his instructions to the letter! My vision is permanently compromised in both eyes, more so on the right. At my initial visit, the surgical coordinator was very respectful. Looking back it felt more like a sales pitch for multi-focal lenses. Information overload regarding the advantages of multi-focal over regular implants. (I was very open about this after the surgery). Before making a decision Dr. Piazza assured me and his surgical coordinator that regardless of my Lasix surgery in the past the multi focal was ok. The lady reminded him of that my rt eye had a defect at least 3 times. He replaced my rt lense 2x then ended up with a macula cyst, that is still being treated to date by a 2nd opinion I recieved. I am 70 years old, this has been a frustrating and disheartening experience. I have since found out that my experience is not an isolated incident.

I went to see Dr. Piazza for evaluation of cataracts. His office staff was great. I thought his evaluation was very thorough and he told me my vision was not at the point where the cataract needed to be removed. I'll definitely go back next year for a re-check. Highly recommend.

My experience with Dr. piazza was very scary and Traumatic There was no concern by either Dr. piazza or his anesthesia provider for my comfort level.. I was fully awake during the procedure of cataract implant in my right on. I felt and saw everything. I would not recommend this ophthalmologist to anyone. Margaret Swan 8/10/1952

Dr. Piazza's skill and kindness defused a frightening experience: I awoke one morning with what appeared to be a bloody eye! I contacted Coastal Eye Care and, although it turned out not to be the emergency I initially feared it to be, the staff was very nice and got me in to see Dr. Piazza quickly. The tech who began my exam was reassuring as well as efficient! When Dr. Piazza saw me, he explained the hemorrhage as well as told me how to prevent a recurrence. He was patient, calming and kind!

Dr. Piazza and the whole Coastal Eye Center team were far and away the best choice I could have made for cataract surgery. The staff and Dr. Piazza were not only welcoming but truly friendly and interested in me as a individual....not a number. Due to the LASIK surgery I had many years ago, my cataract surgery wasn't a simple procedure and there were no guarantees that my vision could be returned to its glasses-free state. But, with dedication, patience, skill and optimism our joint goal was achieved and my vision is a good as it was before my cataract replacement surgery.
